hi all,
i am gary, served 15 yrs in reme,left in 1990 lived in other places and now back in the u.k. working for the MOD teaching new soldiers how to fix helicopters......and still a lancashire lad at heart.

Garry, being anti-tank we had two REME gunfitters allocated to us and I have happy memories of the way we worked together.

REME did that stand for Rough Engineering Made Easy :wink: and of course RE was just Rough Engineering. On doing some light Research on Searchlight Batteries in WW2 I was surprised to see that they came under the Royal Engineers.
