Post by Sue »

In January I am participating in the national Dryathlon fundraising campaign to raise money for cancer research. I shall not be drinking any alcohol in the month of January, including on my birthday which falls in the middle of the month.

If you would like to sponsor me you can go directly to the just giving website by clicking on the link above.

Thank you

Sue

Good luck with it Sue, I've made a donation on your Just Giving page. I'll no doubt think of you every time I raise a glass through January!

Many thanks Wendy. Yes a few of my friends have said that, including those we go away with in January to the Lakes! They will be drinking and I will not.

NOT MANY DAYS TO GO TO THE START OF MY DRYATHLON

As many of you know I am doing a sponsored Drythlon in January in aid of Cancer Research UK. This involves abstaining completely from alcoholic beverages from 9.00am on January 1st until midnight on the last day. I am hoping to raise £150. If I do not reach my target I will make up the difference myself. I do not normally ask friends to sponsor me on fundraising activities but I do feel this is a very worthwhile cause that affects many of us. A number of my close friends and relatives have suffered from cancer over the last few years and I would like to contribute to the continuing research that will help to control the disease and hopefully, eventually prevent others from suffering from it.

You can find out more about this event and how to donate on the link below

I am writing to ask you if you would consider sponsoring me on this drylathon. January is traditionally a month when I enjoy myself, going out for meals and other treats as my birthday falls in the month and I take an annual holiday with friends. This year these celebrations will be alcohol free.
Donations can be made directly on the website.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this
Happy New Year to you all

Many thanks Ian. My sister who is a wine correspondent has just brought our Christmas presents over plus some wines to sample over the festive season. It could be a pleasant run up to January1st!

One week to go before I start my Drythalon.

Many thanks to all that have sponsored me already , I am now a third of the way to my target.

Please consider supporting me on this worthwhile cause. Cancer affects all of is and is such a tragic disease. Continued research will help to improve survival chances.

Still got the dreaded cold so not really into drinking much more than tea!
Actually , not too bad if I don't think about it. All activities start this week so that's three evenings when I am out. Tonight, Sunday will be the hardest, as we usually have a aperitif before our meal, plus wine, plus a liqueur. I must not think about it. Yes, ancestry seems to be the answer :laugh5:
