Good. But how about the proposed Nelson 40th anniversary celebrations? Does anybody care? Is it a proper use of scarce funding?

Don't know if they'll plough on with this. Originally, they earmarked £3,000, which includes the £1,700 for the M65 sign (which may be money down the drain).

Surely you can all remember this anniversary. Its when everybody gave up their independence and we finished up with this.
David I'll put the plaque back the next time I'm in Nelson.

I'm glad we don't have that on our road signs!

It does though have the virtue of the three white roses on top.

I liked the comment on the Lancashire Telegraph site suggesting that the borough's boundary signs could be 'Sponsored by Viagra - working hard for you'.

Pendle's coat of arms. Picture posted 21 Feb 2014. Just pondering on this coat of arms. In all my wanderings around the Pendle districts I can't recall seeing it anywhere outside the Nelson council chambers. Is it just me or has anybody else seen it?
Perhaps this wants branding up too. Or better still leave it in its "hidden corner".
