It was fine here as well Moh, broken cloud and an occasional shaft of sunlight, light wind. However, this morning it's a cold rain and I can see it might develop into snow. Glass has dropped back almost to 29" so that may be giving us a clue. I was talking to my friend Martha in Minnesota yesterday and she said they were having a nice day with a foot of snow and it looked pretty! They were off to see a screening of 'Lincoln'. However, there is an ice storm forecast for today and they will not be going anywhere!

We started off with a light covering of snow yesterday which slowly disappeared through the day. We have woken up to the same amount again this morning. It's sleeting with a nasty Easterly wind.

We were up by you Windy yesterday for lunch at the Black Lane Ends - hot sandwiches delicious. It was 2C cooler up there that it was at the junction of Skipton Road and Castle Road at Colne. Nolic

The forecast of heavy snow was not fulfilled. We had a strong wind and precipitation that varied from cold rain to light snow but never stuck. Light dusting of fine snow this morning but none sticking on the ground where it was wet. Glass was falling all day yesterday but has started to rise during the night and is on 29". Looks like cold and wet with a stiff breeze.
Back from our walk and it isn't cold and wet, it's just face-achingly cold! Easterly breeze giving enough wind chill to freeze your ears. It will be cold up at Burnt Hill! Wrap up warm Wendy.

I saw the sun as well at about 11:00! Cold and dry this morning and glass is rising, 29.5" at the moment. Forecast was for a very hard frost tonight but they seem to have changed that and are forecasting rain coming in after a bright day. We'll know tomorrow!

It was a pleasant late February day yesterday. The forecast severe frost last night didn't happen. I suspect the wind from the west has kept it off. Glass steady on 29.5". Forecast is not good as there is a big front coming in and depending on how far north you are this could be snow or at best sleet and cold rain with a stiff breeze. Get out for the early walk as soon after 07:00 as possible. (Just had a look outside and the wind is rising already, the precipitation, whatever it is, isn't far off!
07:30. We're back from our morning inspection. Overcast, wind rising and very cold. Just as we got back in the yard and the outside light clicked on I saw tiny flakes of snow falling in the glare. My thoughts flew like a winged arrow to a small figure in the fields at Burnt Hill..... Good day for keeping the boys inside I think Wendy!
08:00. It's snowing gently and sticking. Roofs are showing white already. Glad I'm not out in it!

We didn't get much above freezing yesterday and it was down to -2C this morning. The wind has turned to the south and the snow started about 8 am. We still have snow on the ground from a couple of weeks ago and half an inch or so from Monday that has frozen hard, so today's should settle quickly!

Snow, sleet, hail and freezing rain during the afternoon in Nelson. Its raining this evening together with a gusting wind. But getting a bit milder. Should be a better day tomorrow with some sunshine and milder temperatures.

It got quite wintry with the snow blown about in a strong wind until noon when temperature rose and snow slackened. By evening it was raining and this morning the snow has gone and it's warmer. Still a bit of rain in the air but expected to clear. Glass has fallen to 29.1" but high pressure will come in later this morning.

It has been most enlightening reading the reports that contain glass readings. I have a pocket barometer that reads in inches of mercury, normally I double check it against a marine watch with barometer, but this requires dividing the watch reading by 33.68 to get Hg reading.now there is no need for the maths. thanks folks.

Best day for a long while, even went out without the Crombie! Glass is up slightly at over 29.6", overcast, no wind or frost and a heavy dew.Not a bad day for february and did you notice how light it was yesterday in the morning and evening. March isn't far away!

What a beautiful day, even got sheets out on the line. Off to a fabric shop in Harrogate this afternoon. Nothing strenuous, just a browse and a change of scenery

Perfect February day yesterday, sunny, calm and relatively mild. This and better will do! Glass steady on 29.6 and it's dry and cold outside. Another good day? Should I wash the bedding?

Enjoyed our trip to Harrogate although the fabric shop followed by a cafe was as much as I could manage. The bedding on the line was dry when we got back at 5.30p.m

Anyway, now I can finish Eve's summer top for her birthday, and start a couple of things for me. spring is in the air and the sun is streaming in TODAY!!

Lovely morning isn't it Sue. Jack and I are back from our walk and I didn't realise how sharp the frost had been till I got on the grass. Clear sky, sun shining and no wind so it feels relatively warm. What more could we ask for. (Oh, for it to keep fine because I'm washing duvet covers!)
