Forecast 25C here today in Melbourne. It's a beautiful morning but we could really do with some rain.

I believe it was a record for May in Adelaide yesterday, 31C there (23 in Melbourne). Unusually warm weather for Autumn.

Spring/Summer has gone for the time being. Rain, wind and cool temperatures for several days to come I'm sorry to say, but that's British weather for you. :laugh5:

Clear, calm and cool outside at the moment. Glass is steady at just over 29" No rain forecast till dinnertime but the wind will get up a bit. We need the rain, it's been far too dry recently.
06:50. We've had an early walk. Nippy but a heavy dew and a pleasant walk. Cloud cover is increasing, I fear Jack and I have seen the best of the day.

It rained quite heavily yesterday afternoon and during the night but the wind wasn't quite as bad as forecast. Stiff breeze this morning and cold enough to make your eyes water. Glass is steady around 29" and tending to rise. No real change for the next few days though tomorrow could be a tad colder. I can feel a stove lighting coming on, the CH cut in at low level this morning..... Not blazing summer yet!

We've had several warnings today that there is a fire burning out of control in our Adelaide Hills, and our firefighters have pulled out of the area for their own safety (you don't hear that very often). One home has already been destroyed and there are plenty more in the path of the fire. If anyone knows our Mt Lofty area, thats where it is.

I just saw that on our news Cathy (Melbourne). Shocking that it's happening at this time of year. Was it an out of control burn off?

The fire was caused by a 'private burn-off' that got out of control (someones in trouble) Just been on adelaide now com au and they say that the fire is spreading in all directions and that they have 150 firefighters on duty but I don't know what time the report was made.

No bush fires here Cathy, lots to be said for Barlick!
Sky clear and it's cool outside at the moment but flags are dry. Glass trying to rise, on 29.1" at the moment. Looks like another cool showery day. Forecast is for it to get cooler and no improvement in prospect on the five day forecast.
06:30. It's started drizzling just as Jack and I go out for our walk.... Par for the course!

Just had our walk. Not actually raining but not far off. Wet cold and gloomy. I see the Daily Mail is trying to cheer us all up by forecasting a non-summer, see LINK, thanks lads.... Glass is stuck on just over 29.2" and no signs of a better day. The Met office forecast is for a slight warm up towards the end of the week but nothing to cheer about!

Worse this morning Wendy down here. It was dry first thing but a bitterly cold wind and now it's come in gloomy and like yesterday, it feels as though there may be thunder about. I see that snow is forecast for further down the country.... The glass has fallen back to 29" and according to the shipping forecast we have another big low coming in. Later today the wind will swing into the East and by tomorrow morning it will be a Northerly. Stove is lit and it looks as if it will stay that way for the foreseeable future. It isn't even a good Spring yet!

Were you cold, Cazza?
It was a bit damp and grey this morning but I was still in a Tshirt. Had a lovely walk in the sun this afternoon with the dog.
I haven't sat down much today, so haven't felt cold.
Lovely to hear RAIN on the roof overnight. Gosh...how long has it been?

It got worse for Wendy in the afternoon when it started raining.... Jack and I managed two dry walks but only by the skin of our teeth. It's still raining this morning and cold. The second low must have hit us during the night because the glass has fallen half an inch to just over 28.5". We need the rain but it's getting a bit boring. No respite in sight and the wind keeps shifting into the North for long enough to cool us down. If you add in the wind chill and the altitude it feels like just above freezing and we are almost into June!
Still heavy cold rain an hour later....
08:00. Jack and I waited till the rain stopped and we've had a reasonably dry walk but it's a cold North wind and heavy rainclouds rolling in. The beck at Butts is runnin g a banker for the first time in months, there must have been a lot of rain during the evening and night. The glass is still falling and it is not a nice day!

It was a cold gloomy day yesterday but brightened up later and the glass started to rise. It's dry this morning and cold, could be a grass frost by the time Jack and I get out. I see the Midlands had a clap of snow yesterday... Glass is up almost at 29" this morning and at the moment the sky is clear. No prospect of anything radically different in the five day forecast. Keep the thick knickers on!

It was a slightly better day yesterday, we got some sunny spells. Not a lot of wind and swinging all over the place and no improvement in sight. Generally cold for the time of year, stove is still lit! Glass rising slowly, it's at 29.1" at the moment and still rising. Forecast is some rain at dinnertime, lots of rain tomorrow and wind swinging into the East again and then North for the foreseeable future. It warms up a bit but the wind will hold it back and make it feel colder. Dandelions all open and facing the sun yesterday on the Green!

Yesterday was a bit warmer and some rain around dinnertime. This morning it's raining and we are promised a lot today. Good day for working inside! Glass is steady on 29.2" and what wind there is is from the East but tomorrow it starts swinging into the North and will stay there till Tuesday.... Not summer yet!

I don't think we had the weight of rain other areas experienced yesterday. It was just a wet cold day. Milky overcast this morning, hardly any breeze and flags have dried out. Glass rising slowly to 29.3", looks a bit dyer and perhaps a slow improvement?
08:00. Had our walk. It's warmer and very muggy.....
