In other words it is the longest day and from now on it's all downhill as we head towards winter! Actually it wasn't a bad day yesterday and the threatened overnight rain was minimal. The glass has fallen to 29.2" and the forecast is overcast but warm and dry with heavier rain tomorrow and Sunday. Current weather is dull, overcast and very light rain.

Flags were wet and it was drizzling at 04:00 but it's brightened up nicely, we had a pleasant walk. Glass is back at 29" and falling. Forecast gives rain 10:00 onwards and rain all day tomorrow. We'll see how accurate it is!

Well it was dry yesterday could feel rain in the air, then we cooked for a few hours and had tea outside, Dave said he thought it would be nice tomorrow and it's raining again. Eileen

Light showers on and off in the afternoon and from the look of it, all night as well. A cool damp drizzly morning at the moment. Glass has steadied just below 29" and the forecast is for the same mix today. The good news is that from today the weather gets brighter and drier, the bad is that the wind is going to be in the NW for most of the time so it will be cooler than normal.
07:10. We've had our walk, cold and wet, heaviest continuous rain we've been out in for a while. Jack is rubbed down now but had an early bath! I have had to put dry trousers on. Good writing day!

Dry start to the day but cool. That pesky NW wind is cooling things down and the relentless overcast is spoiling the advantages of early daylight. Forecast is for the NW wind to predominate until Friday but dry. Glass has risen sharply to 29.5".
07:00. We've had our walk, dry but chilly....

Clear cool morning but the sun has put his hat on! Glass still rising, almost 29.8". The NW wind will cool us down but it will be a nice sunny day. If the wind was warm it would be flaming June.

Only had two partly wet days (which were last weekend) in Middleton in the past 3 weeks, the rest has been lovely. Good job, I forgot my coat.

Slightly warmer morning with broken cloud. Wind still northerly. Glass still rising slowly, up at 29.9". Should be another dry cool day but with slightly less sun than yesterday.
07:20. Back from our early walk. Dull and overcast but could ne a hell of a lot worse. Trees are loving it, everything growing well.

Cool, broken cloud. Glass falling slightly at 29.8". Looks like a similar day to yesterday but slightly more cloud. Wind is in the West and there's a chance of a shower after dinner.
07:00. Pleasant but cool and overcast walk round the town. OK I suppose but not Flaming June!

Warmer morning but heavy overcast and misty, growy weather! Glass back at just over 29.5" and forecast is for rain from 07:00 till 16:00.
08:00. We've had our walk down to the butcher's and the Met Office forecast was spot on. It started raining gently just after 07:00 and is slowly getting heavier. Very warm and humid, the trees and the grass will love this.

We have had a run of sunny afternoons, which have been very enjoyable, though today is cloudy with little patches of blue showing through.
Keeping an eye out, as I have a line full of washing. if it looks like rain, I shall be off at trotting speed to gather it all in.
Might even get a walk in later...though nowadays we don't say the word "walk" out loud because the dog has ears like a bat and goes into hyper-drive if she hears the word.
Whilst on the subject of the dog, she has developed a curious habit of removing a single orange from our orange tree every day. If I pick it up, she will remove another one...if I leave it there she wont. This last one has been there three days now, with no new fruit removed from the tree. Not sure why we have to have an orange on the lawn (she shows no interest in it), but I shall play by the rules for the sake of getting some fruit this year.
She also has three water containers (one inside and two outside) but chooses only one to drink from each day (could be any of the three). Water is changed twice daily in all of them, so this is another strange habit I do not understand.

She'll have her reasons Maz.... We've been for our walk, a pleasant one under an overcast sky but dry and calm. The wind got up yesterday evening but no rain. Glass is just over 29.5" and the forecast is for a dry, overcast day with fog late tonight.

For the last two days it has been hot and sunny but cold at night. Sat out last night until 9.00 pm then had to come indoors as it went really cold when the sun went down. The weather is a bit like Spring not summer. Eileen

Warmer breeze in Barlick this morning but overcast. Glass is unchanged at just above 29.5". The forecast says it should be raining but they have got it wrong this morning, dry and it looks settled.

There is quite a stiff breeze keeping the temperature down up here. We went to a friends barbecue across the valley last night but the cloud came down and we got soaked walking home even though it wasn't really raining.

Wendy, that cloud was rain in the valley bottom. Overcast again this morning but at the moment hardly any wind. Glass Has fallen a bit to 29.4". Forecast gives a chance of rain in the middle of the day. July holiday weather!
07:30. Had our walk and the sun has put his hat on! Very pleasant morning and some forecasters are saying that there is a good spell of summer weather on the horizon. I'll believe it when I see it, I'm fed up of headlines like 'the warmest day' when we are getting nothing anywhere near good summer weather. Mind you, the five day forecast for Barlick looks a bit better on Thursday and Friday.....

The forecast was spot on yesterday, overcast at first then some sunny spells, light rain 10:00 onwards but cleared up into a fine afternoon. Breeze appreciably warmer. Glass has fallen slightly to 29.3" but they are forecasting highs of 30C in a few days......

Damp and overcast all day in Barlick with frequent drizzle. Cool enough to light the stove in the front room for an hour last night. Looks the same this morning.... Glass has fallen to 29" so not a lot of cheer for today. The forecast says rain at midday on Thursday but from then on it brightens up and temperature rises as high pressure takes hold.
