Back to wintry conditions today. We had a severe thunderstorm warning at about 1.30pm today for Adelaide's metropolitan area, telling us to expect 100km winds, lots of wind, rain and ofcourse thunder. At 3.30pm I was on my bed, reading, I had my curtains pulled back to get a clear view of the storm, I love a good storm, but guess what... we are still waiting for it!! Its so annoying when they specifically tell you what to expect, and then it doesn't happen.

Ooops! Another tv report in the last few minutes has reported that lots of area's have been hit badly, so maybe it's a good thing that my area will probably only receive some more wind and rain.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

I like a good thunderstorm too Cath. We used to have good ones in Berlin but the best I ever saw was when I had a front seat of a tornado cell at Northfield. Four hours entertainment! And yes, I should have been in the tornado shelter but I couldn't pass up on a spectacle like that.
In contrast, Barlick weather is very quiet and well-behaved. Dry this morning but a bit more wind. Glass has fallen back a bit to just below 29". Forecast gives a high chance of rain around teatime and the wind will keep it relatively cool but still quiet weather.

Have just been sat (glass of Stout in hand) watching a most beautiful sunset. Pink and purple skies. Magnificent.

Maz, we got a precursor of Autumn this morning, clear sky, much cooler and the glass risen to almost 29.1" Not long to go till the first frost! Jack and I have had our walk and it's a fresh but pleasant morning.

Shorts and T-shirts for us too - might be a bit ambitious with 22 and windy but it feels like spring now. Everyone here for Fathers Day lunch, outside I think.

Clear and cool again in Barlick. Glass almost up at 29.7". Fine settled weather and just right for the time of year. Things could be a lot worse!
07:00. We've had our walk and that wind is chilly when you're in it! But dry at the moment. Mind you it's very heavy overcast and a shower wouldn't surprise me.

27C here in Adelaide. Went for a longer walk today, all other walkers I saw said Hello and looked happy, fed the ducks, most of them were laying in the shade having a mid-day snooze but came when they realized I had an extra feed for them. Later on my backyard birds came for a bath and splash about. Perfumes of Spring everywhere. Tomorrow we have 25C. Spring has sprung...

actually Cazza...on the weather report tonight they said it reached 28.3 degrees here today...which fills me with some dread, because if the first day of our Spring is so warm, what sort of Summer temperatures are we in for?
Had to give the pot plants a little drink today. Did a bit of weeding too.

Dry and calm this morning and the glass is back slightly at 29.6" You could almost feel rain in the air yesterday but it never happened. Forecast is for an Indian summer but it looks as though there is going to be a sharp north/south split with us getting the cooler end....
06:45. Back from our walk. Overcast, gloomy and a light mizzle. Not a lot of Indian Summer about here!

It appears that most of England had a warm sunny day... Not evident in Barlick! Glass steady on 29.6" and forecast is for a similar day to yesterday with perhaps more chance of a shower.

We will still be warmer than you Cathy but this won't last long now. We had a very pleasant day yesterday after the early overcast had burned off. Glass is down with a bump to 29.2" and it feels as though there is a change looming. The forecast today isn't bad but from later tomorrow onwards there is an increased chance of showers, some of them heavy. There's a 60% chance of rain on Sunday for the Re-dedication ceremony but who knows, with a bit of luck they may get away with not too much rain.

It ended up hot and sunny (26C) in the back garden. I even did some pruning and general tidying of garden pots. Though I can't move today, my back hurts. They will have to prise me out of the plane in Menorca.

You've got it this morning Wendy... It's colder in Barlick and we have steady significant rain. Glass not moving a ;lot but down at 29.1", this is usually a sign of extended bad weather. The forecast is improving for Saturday and Sunday. Yesterday they were showing a lot more rain, today they are leaning more to bright spells between the showers. The system may be moving faster than they thought! I shall still do the Sun Dance this morning!

Clear and dry this morning after a very wet day yesterday. Glass is steady on 29.1". Forecast for tomorrow is looking much brighter and the chances now are for a reasonable chance of escaping rain for the War Memorial ceremony tomorrow.
