Age before beauty and all that... whilst Stanley does the legwork, here's an overview of the mist situation at 6am.

Half an hour or so later, it's gone.

(Looking out over Bankfield, it was surprising how fast the mist was flowing down the valley.)

Quite a lot of rain in the night I think but fair this morning. Glass has dropped slightly to 29.4". Forecast is for a high chance of rain all day with a strengthening SW breeze and an expected high of 12C. Coldest, wettest forecast for a while.

We've had our walk to the butcher's on a bright morning. We had plenty of rain yesterday and the glass is steady just below 29.3" The forecast is for a bright day with a moderate west wind, little chance of rain and an expected high of 14C, a bit warmer than yesterday. There was a clear sky this morning and I treated the house to half an hour of heating, it was feeling a bit chilly! No warmer weather in sight.....

It's slowly starting to feel like Spring, it's just teasing us at the moment. Had a warning on the tele today that 'swooping season' has started so we have to be more aware of what the Magpies are doing. Average temperature is about 18C most days, nights still chilly.

You're warmer than we are Cathy. Glass is climbing slowly towards 29.4". Forecast is for a dry bright day with a light but increasing west wind. Could be a spatter of rain this afternoon but mostly dry. Expected High of 14C. Outside chance of a grass frost tonight or tomorrow.
07:00. we've had our walk on a crisp but dry morning. When we got back I found that the heating had kicked in on the thermostat which is set at just under 18C. First time this year, the rest of my heating has been forced by me. Winter is coming!

Clear sky, calm and cool at 04:00 this morning. We've had our walk on a bright sunny morning with some high cloud. Cool but very pleasant, had my first ripe blackberry in Butts! Glass is up at 29.5" so that's a good sign. Forecast is for a bright overcast day, light and variable wind mostly from the west but could swing to the east tonight. Expected high of 14C so little change...

Cathy, it's going to be a chilly wet BH for most. Lowest night time temperature since the 1960 reported in N Ireland yesterday and heavy rain forecast for much of England today. Overcast, dry and cool here at the moment. Glass fallen quickly to 29.3" and the forecast is for a high chance of showers all day with a brisk east wind and a forecast high of 12C which will feel like 11C with the wind chill. Not holiday weather!

Light rain first thing. Glass is down again at 29.2". Forecast is dry from 06:00 onwards and it will be full sun in the afternoon. Moderate east wind all day and an expected high of 16C but it will feel cooler in the wind. Heating cracked on at low level this morning.

Clear, calm, dry and cool first thing. Still clear and the sun has got his hat on. Glass is up at almost 29.5" and the forecast is for an overcast but bright day with a moderate east wind and an expected high of 17C but it will feel slightly cooler. Not a bad day!

We've had our walk. Rain during the night but this morning is dry with broken cloud and much milder that of late. The glass is down at 29.2" and the forecast is for a bright overcast day with a chance of showers after dinner but a fine evening. The gentle breeze is from the SW and the expected high is an improved 18C. We are promised that next week could be warmer....

Overcast, mild, dry and calm first thing. Glass is moving back slowly, almost at 29.1". Forecast is for a high chance of showers all day after 07:00, moderate SW wind and an expected high of 15C, will feel like 12C in the wind.
We got out for our morning walk in good time and the forecast is spot on, it started raining shortly after 07:00 as we were getting back home. As I write this at 08:00 it is raining steadily, good timing!

They have hinted that some rain is on it's way.

We're in a similar position here Cathy. Weather has been unseasonably cold but it doesn't feel like proper autumn yet. First thing this morning it was mild and mizzling, it's drying up now. Glass is moving up slowly again, almost at 29.3", very variable at the moment. Forecast is for a mainly bright but overcast day with a mo0derate west wind and an expected high of 16C. Showers if any are more likely in the early part of the day.
07:15. We've had our walk and it is raining gently now. A damp but mild day.

We have a clear sky this morning and dry flags. Glass is up at almost 29.5". I looked at the big weather map last night and this looks like a bit of a respite from the cold weather but there is a massive Atlantic low moving up towards Iceland. Forecast for today is for a mainly bright day with a moderate west wind, expected high of 16C.
We've had our walk on a clear, relatively calm and sunny morning. Very pleasant and far better for us than lying in bed!

Clear, cool and dry first thing. Glass is up slightly and steady on 29.5". Forecast is for early showers and then a bright overcast day with less wind from the west and an expected high of 17C.

Broken cloud, light west wind, mild and dry this morning. Glass is up again at almost 29.7". Forecast is for a bright overcast day with a lighter west wind and an expected high of 18C. No rain in sight. Looks like a bit of a respite, Indian Summer?

Overcast dry and mild first thing. Glass is back to 29.6". Forecast is for another bright overcast day with a slightly stronger east wind, expected high of 18C. Could be a good day for washing bedding!
07:45. We've had a pleasant walk and met some of Jack's mates. Dry but overcast. I am about to hang a duvet cover out....
