At most we might have had a sleet shower down here Wendy but if we did I missed it. That could explain why some cars have ice on them and others not. I hope you can avoid that today. A good chance I think, we seem to be in a dry spell despite the low pressure.
I noted this morning that Ronaldsway on the IOM agrees with our low reading. I just tapped the barometer to check and it jumped up 3mb, a good sign. Mind you, that wind is bitter!

The snowfall is patchy, nothing in Wetherby, there's a bit at Kex Gill but the roads are clear. Dropped into Barlick Aldi for some milk and there's no snow on the ground, plenty on the surrounding hills.
There's a few inches left on the drive at chez Kev, we're at 740ft here. I believe Wendy is a wee but higher up than that so not surprised you had a fair old covering, glad you got out OK.

Barlick was lucky yesterday, yellow warning for snow but we never saw any. At 20:00 we had the benefit of a full moon, an almost clear sky and a frost. First thing this morning it was calm, cold overcast and misty, still the same. The glass is up on 977mb and still rising. The forecast is for a dry day apart from snow this morning as it gets light. The wind will be light to moderate, mainly NW and the high will be 3C and the low -3c with a chill of -3C most of the day.
The outlook is for similar dry cold weather into the new year.
04:50. Back from my walk. The early mist has gone now, it is calm, dry, a sharp frost and an almost full moon (full on 30th) visible through broken high cloud. It's quiet and cold, just right for the hiatus between Xmas and New Year.

Snow falling here in Foulridge, I would imagine Wendy is seeing a fair bit up there in the mountains.

600 ft is about the normal snow level. Another 1 inch dropped last night and some light stuff coming down as I write. Roads have been gritted and has turned them into a horrible brown slush. Ideal for turning your car into rust. Answer is. Stop in.

We have another inch of very light stuff up here at 1000ft, the road has been gritted and it's brightening up. I was just thinking how rare it is that we get snow without strong winds creating drifts. That's a blessing!

66ft above sea level and we have a light dusting, something and nothing, but it is snow, very rare occurrence.

You've got 240ft on me (I know my place :biggrin2: ). There's around 4 inches accumulated on the roof of the Yeti. Vicarage Motors are coming to recover it later today, the repairs are covered under a warranty (theirs) so all is good.

Just been to Barlick, no snow there. The main roads are clear through Foulridge, Skipton Old Road behind my house is a bit slippery.

We have a bit on the Croft here in Barlick. Slushy and slippery on the back street when I put the bin out.

Given the drive a wipe over again. The only thawing is the tarmac that has been exposed. Any snow that has been underfoot and crushed has turned to ice.

Yesterday we escaped heavy snow but it was freezing all day. At 20:00 it was cold calm and dry, same now, hard frost and a full moon with a slight mist and a misty sky. The glass rose steadily all day yesterday and this morning is on 994mb. The forecast gives a warning of snow mid-morning otherwise dry all day. The wind is a constant very light westerly tending to the north giving a high of 1 and a low of -4C with a -3C chill when the wind is over 10mph. The outlook for the next five days is similar weather, could be a snow shower tomorrow evening but otherwise very cold and dry.
05:15. Back from my early walk. We have a full moon clearly visible despite thin high cloud. It's calm, quiet and very cold with a hard frost. Slippy underfoot, be careful if you are outside.

Clear skies and sunshine, a good day down here in Barlick. I hope it's the same at Burnt Hill and reducing the snow. Still freezing hard though.....

Just tried clearing the snow off the Yeti (recovery truck is due to take it to the garage) and it's frozen solid. Took me a while to get the door open.

15:50 update. They can't get the recovery truck to the back of my house. Trying again on Monday once the snow and ice has, hopefully, thawed.

The frost never let up yesterday and at 20:00 it was clear cold and you could have read a newspaper by the light of the moon. Same first thing this morning, harder frost than yesterday. The glass has risen slightly and is steady on 997mb. The forecast is for a similar day to yesterday but a warning of snow between 06:00 and 11:00 this morning. The wind is a very light NW and gives a high of 1C and a low of -2C with a -2C wind chill. At the moment I think it's about -5C. The outlook is for similar cold weather for the foreseeable future.
05:15. I've had my early walk, calm and very cold, I reckon about -5C. The moon and some stars are still visible through high thin cloud but I suspect that more cloud is coming in. Very quiet but still some workers heading for the abattoir at Gisburn and opening the Co-op up.
