It's very dark and the rain is persisting down here in Foulridge. I hope Wendy is OK up in the mountains.

We just had a few torrential short downpours and lots of thunder. Then next minute it’s sunshine again.

Yesterday we had some heavy showers but avoided the thunderstorms that others had. Look on the bright side, the showers are a good thing, we needed some rain. At 20:00 it was mild and clearing after a light shower. First thing this morning it was calm, clear, dry and and mild. I've just looked out and it is still clear. The glass is well up on 999mb. The forecast is for a sunny day with cloud building after noon and perhaps a light shower this evening. The wind is a light to moderate southerly that could tend to ESE this evening. The high will be 13C and the low 6C with a -2C chill most of the day and possibly -3C this evening. Chance of a dry sunny walk today. The outlook is for similar weather for the next five days.

I've had a walk in just a light shirt and waistcoat. It was nice and warm sat on the bench and watching the traffic.... :biggrin2:
Someone has changed the waiting interval between pressing the button and the lights changing on the crossing. Working far better with less delay to both pedestrians and traffic.

Yesterday afternoon became a procession of showers. At 20:00 it was calm ,overcast and light rain. Same first thing this morning but the rain has ceased now. The glass is on 1001mb and steady. The forecast is for a cloudy morning then broken cloud and showers this afternoon and evening. The wind is light and variable but mainly SW and gives a high of 12C and a low of 5C tonight with a negligible wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather for the next five days.

I've had my second walk into town and it was nice, sunny,a light breeze and dry. It's clouding over at the moment and we are promised rain. I noticed how the trees have suddenly burst into leaf over the last few days and the grass is moving.

There is a massive Solar Storm is hitting the planet at the moment, the index has been up as far as 261.4nT. That is a red alert level and is nearly as far as the register goes. Not quite dark enough yet and if the storm continues this level means that you may be able to see the aurora anywhere in the UK with the naked eye. Just checked and it has dropped back to green alert and the index is now 22.6nT. This is not uncommon and it may peak again later.

Yesterday afternoon we had light showers and at 20:00 it was calm and mostly clear but the flags were still damp. This morning it's calm, clear, mild and dry. The glass is up on 1005mb. The forecast is for a bright overcast day with showers this afternoon which could be locally heavy. The easterly wind is light and tends to the north at times giving a high of 14C and a low of 5C tonight with at most a -2C chill. The outlook is for similar weather and perhaps a sunny start to next week.
Later. I have had my short walk. Sky is still clear, heavy dew and my breath was steaming!

We got a light shower after dinner yesterday but otherwise it was dry. At 20:00 it was calm and dry but overcast. Same this morning and the glass is up a shade on just over 1001mb. The forecast is for a cloudy but dry day. The wind is a light easterly giving a high of 12C and a low of 7C with a -2C chill. The outlook for the next five days is changeable but a bit warmer with some sunny spells.
I've had a short early walk, dry but that wind is a bit cool!

Much the same here Stanley. We had the odd shower yesterday, but nothing dramatic, today is overcast and a tad warmer.

I've been for a later walk, I fancied making a boiled ham butty on white teacake... Overcast and cool but acceptable. However, we need sun!

Overall it was a cloudy but acceptable afternoon. At 20:00 it was calm and dry. Same this morning and we have heavy broken cloud. The glass is down slightly on 999mb. The forecast is for a cloudy day with the chance of light rain any time from 10:00 onwards. The light to moderate east wind gives a high of 10C and a low of 7C with a -2 or -3C. The outlook for the next five days is slightly warmer and brighter than today but still changeable.
