WELCOME TO CAT WORLD.

Post by Thomo »

Yes, Welcome. I am going to launch this topic with a pic of "Rosie" the little tortoiseshell cat that came to us three weeks ago. It wasn't long before we suspected that she may be pregnant, and this was confirmed by our new Vet soon afterwards. This morning she was laid on my bedside cabinet asleep, and whilst I was looking at her there was a distinctive kick from within, it won't be long now. A "birthing" area has been prepared in the bottom of a part of the wardrobe where she often sleeps. Izzy has now "moved in" and seldom goes out for long periods. Integration of the three ex strays has not been easy in the case of Mabel, but it is clear that she has not been treated well in the past and cats have long memories, but with patience, care and love, we will get there. Now here is the pic of "Rosy,Rosie":-

I think Rosie looks very confident and pleased with herself, or had someone just called her name, or told her how beautiful she is?
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

On a very cold morning, these three know where the best place to doze is, Izzy, Mabel and Ellie, fed and contented:-

I don't have a cat, Thomo, but enjoy seeing the photos of your well kept brood. They look so content and clean.
Any guesses as to how many babies are due?

( I have had both cats and a lovely dog, but now find I get a bit allergic to pet hair these days. I don't know why this happens, as I would love a little cuddle)

I should think four would be enough for her size and age...

No Spring here Mick but the Lodger Cat is making full use of the box under the bench. This dry frost doesn't bother him much but as soon as anything falls out of the sky he's in there like a shot! Only problem is he's a bully, he has Jack well under the thumb! He even challenges me when he's sat on the gate and I want to open it. Funny animals cats.....

In the midst of a confused day, Rosie gave birth to her 1st kitten 30 mins ago, with a second just now, both black and white, both appear to be OK, more later!!

All appears to well this morning. Rosie is fine and eating well, the 4 kittens are all much the same size as each other, 1. Black and White and 3 Tortoiseshell, 1 darker than the other 2, I may have a pic later. Our new Vet rang at 7 last night for an update, something we have never had before. Thank you for your concern Wendy and Gloria.

With Peter as adopted Dad, I don't think the kittens will be bothered about their biological father!

No but...Dad shouldn't get away scot free. Drag him in and make him responsible I say. ( at the very least he needs a little operation. That should take care of future stray cats.)

There I was gardening today when I heard a cat that sounded just like my poor deceased Soda. Has she come to haunt me , I thought. Nope, it' was the cat of our new next door neighbours, as she wandered around Sodas old territory. It did give me a bit of a shock :surprised:
If you keep searching you will find it

Definately 4, but they are growing rapidly, and all are near equal size. Yesterday afternoon the young Woman who found Rosie in the 1st snow, brought her family to see them, quite an emotional moment ot two! I have absolutely no doubt that these kittens will become beautiful cats, even at only 5 days old they are becoming characters, and Rosie is a vey good Mum.
