Glad Sparky is OK. Perhaps you're feeding him to well! If I overdo the Cod Liver Oil or take aspirin I have nose bleeds....
Fireworks last night but I managed Jack well and took him out twice for late night pees on the lead. No accidents and he's acting normally this morning. His hearing must be incredible....

Did you see the report about Brooklyn the American Bulldog on skynews/culture /offbeat.
Brooklyn was lost down a wombat warren for a few days. Yesterday an official rescue team tried to find him using seismic listening devices and cameras. They heard Brooklyn crying but couldn't get to him. Then nothing was heard for a while and the team left. :disappointed: :disappointed: :disappointed:
Brooklyn 's owner and some local helpers with lights and digging tools dug for 7 hours and eventually found Brooklyn and pulled him free.
That is one lucky dog and very relieved owner...

Spot the cat.... TC decided he would try one of his favourite spots on next door's roof but didn't stay there for long, no shelter from the wind....

The sun had come out briefly Cathy. He usually gets on the stairs window cill to take the rays but the clouds came over as soon as he got up there so he came down and found a more sheltered place.

When I moved into my unit 8yrs ago my landlady told me that my back garden was home to a bluetongue lizard. I've seen him/her ? every spring /summer since then. Last year he was living in some ivy, I was concerned for him because there were a few cats visiting my back garden and I really thought he was a gonner. Happily he appeared again about a month ago from a different hiding spot. This year he is living under the end of a concrete path next to a water tap and near some very large rocks. This spot gets a lot of sun for him to sunbake himself and I make sure he always has some water. I've interupted him several times because this is where I hang out my washing. Today I saw him in my front garden, he is on the move and looking healthy. Fingers crossed he will still be here next year.
Impossible to take a photo because he scuttles back under the concrete every time I get near.

Yes Stanley aren't they gorgeous. 'My' Lizard is quite active during our sunniest part of the day (just when I want to hang out the washing) and I find myself checking to see where he is so that I don't disturb him... Lol.

Never mind the decorations! I know two lucky lads when I see them! There could be a short dry spell this morning before dinner for a quick trot out. Broken cloud at the moment and the forecast says it won't start raining again until 11AM.

Had fun and games today with my cat (3 times). She is often quite cheeky and sometimes tries her luck with me by asking for her meals earlier and earlier. Today she has expected all her meals 1 hour earlier than normal, and each time her 'chat' has got more demanding!!
At her tea-time I suddenly realised why.... We put our clocks 'back' last night and she is oblivious and still on normal time. :laugh5:

Good photo Liz. It always amazes me that animals know the exact time, we adjust feeding times gradually when the clocks change. Even the hens expect to be fed at a set time.

I don't have a problem with Jack. I suspect this is because he times his day using my routine. If I sleep too long in the afternoon he comes and wakens me up for his 15:15 feed!

I once looked after house cats in Northfield. I became an expert in clumping..... That beast would be industrial quantities!
I am constantly amazed by how much Jack's world is governed by scent. He misses nothing and I always give him free rein to investigate his weemail. It is essential to his existence and it would be cruel to deprive him. If I go for a pee he always sticks his head in the toilet bowl and checks on my health. I'm almost certain that if he detected something amiss he would make a signal.

I have to report I have just had a terrible shock! I just realised that Jack wasn't with me in the kitchen. About an hour ago I went out to chuck the coffee grounds on the front garden and never noticed that Jack hadn't come in with me. The poor little bugger has been sat shivering on the front doorstep for at least an hour!
He is in now and not best pleased with me..... I shall make it up to him.....

Image

He's sat next to me and hasn't taken his eyes off me since he came in! I can't say I blame him!

He has been more attentive than usual Cathy, my every move has been monitored! He got out of sight playing with a black whippet bitch this morning in Valley Gardens. The lad who owns the whippet called it but it took no notice. Out with the shepherd's whistle and one call brought Jack back like a winged arrow! The lad was most impressed and asked where he could get one.....
