Good advice Peter. I made that decision a long time ago when I had two accounts for administrative reasons connected to Rochdale MBC. As soon as I could I closed the second account because there were instances of overlap and as you say, they always took a lot of sorting out!
Since then I have tried to keep things simple and it seems to work. (It was probably a mistake to say that!)

Old age can be a bit of a bugger. It gets harder to keep going and people tend to drop off the perch. You can start to run out of friends. Yes. it's a bit hard at the moment. Onward and upward!

When giving titles to images in the expectation of using the file name as a search term, do not use short terms like LA for Los Angeles. LA will give you thousands of hits from a reasonably sized archive.... :biggrin2:

If some of the messages in your Thunderbird email inbox seem to have disappeared at random don't panic. Check that they are still being sorted chronologically by clicking on the Date column header. If necessary then click the header again to reverse the chronology to whichever you prefer - ascending or descending. It happened to me yesterday. I have them ordered with newest message at the top and when I clicked on the latest message the click must have missed and hit the Subject header instead although I didn't notice immediately. When I then looked down the list there were some recent messages but others were missing. A bit of panic ensued until I thought of the ordering being odd. All's well that ends well!

That can be disconcerting for a second if it happens to an image file.... Mind you it can be useful if you want to search a big file for one named document.

Even if you are on a pedestrian crossing that is in your favour, still look each way before you set off into the road. Not every driver is aware of the road or totally in control. Far better safe than sorry!

No Cathy but I have seen examples lately of drivers ignoring reds on pedestrian crossings, mainly because they were simply not paying attention. Always assume that the driver of the car approaching the crossing as you prepare to cross is asleep at the wheel!

A tip for travellers to Italy - don't use the pedestrian crossings, because Italian drivers use them for target practise!

Many years ago in heavy traffic in Manchester when I was wagon driving I almost hit people on a crossing as they dashed out from behind a bus stopped on the crossing in the opposite traffic stream. It was a close call, I can still see the scene in my mind's eye. A policeman saw it as well and I was summonsed and fined for 'failing to accord preference' on a crossing. That experience has never left me. It was fair but harsh, I had no chance at all.

Don't allow election results to ruin your day if they are not in your favour. It's all ephemeral and in the end means very little.

I remember holding my terrified little boy’s arms as he sat over a log. I promised him I was keeping my eyes out for snakes and that he was safe. True bush camping...

That Bullara station loo is luxurious compared to the one at the camp site we stayed on at Dunvegan, Isle of Skye. A small timber shed with one loo. The walls were made of narrow, thin, vertical timbers with gaps between them that allowed you a view of the camp site and loch. You could sit on the loo and wave to passers-by! But it was a bit cold when the wind was blowing.

If you like coffee have just one mug a day in the morning but make it with the best coffee you can find. Better for your health and definitely a morning treat and we all need those! (You can tell I've just made mine....)
