These B&W photos were taken by Matilda Temperley, daughter of Julian Temperley who owns the well-known Burrow Hill Cider Company in Somerset.

That's a mystery - it was there when I posted it, as I always check that a link works. Can't find any trace of it now, and it was a very good quality April Fool.

Sorry I introduced you to Mail Online - perhaps you will need a counselling session with your Susan to get over it?

PS Google to the rescue - Cat flap

I'd love to know why they pulled it. Someone must have 'had a word'. The Mail has changed editor recently, and from being staunchly 'out' they are now staunchly 'in'.

Matilda make nice images..... so much better than colour! Whitaker has an engraving of a Jacob Ram Skull in History of Craven. He included it as evidence of an ancient breed not realising that they still existed in 1800.
David, I saw it on google when I went searching for it.
Bob approved of the hot water and Brexit essay I sent him. I liked his comment on Cameron: "I agree about Cameron and would go even further. He’s living proof that a total reactionary can also be a complete twit. When the tories lost their aristocrats, somebody should have taken away their drivers’ licenses."

The newspapers often change the contents of specific online pages. Some will stay and become archived but other page addresses are constantly being updated with fresh `news'.

AS far as I can deduce, this wasn't a news item which changed, it was their April Fool feature, and it wasn't moved somewhere else, then replaced by another spoof - it it was pulled.

I am still wondering why?

British Gas site has gone bonkers.
Airedale today.
Up later than usual.
That's it!
Later.... See THIS BBC account of another damning report from the National Audit Office. There are 20 obsolete submarines awaiting disposal at Rosyth and Devenport, 9 of them contain nuclear materials and they have eaten up £500billion since 1980 which was the last time one was scrapped.
It's estimated that it costs less than £100million to scrap a submarine. It looks like a no-brainer!

The number of forms one has to fill in for admission to hospital. It is ridiculous. Does anyone have any need of all this useless information?

When I went out to walk Jack mid morning I noticed something funny about my outside, long distance glasses. I found when I returned that the nose pad had dropped off on one side and it was laid on the table. The eye at the back that engages the screw was moulded plastic and had failed. I got an old pair of glasses it and found it had metal eyes moulded into the nose piece so I got my jeweller's screwdrivers out and swapped them over. Problem solved. Something like that pleases me so much, having the right tools and the ability to solve a problem. How much would an optician have charged?
On reflection, I should now take off the other nose piece and give it the same treatment. It's on the list!

Main thing is Jack's ear..... When they are healthy a companion animal is at times a pain. But when there is something amiss you realise what a big part of your life they are.... I'm sure it's good for me but the sooner we find a cure the better!

I hear that a new way of divorce is being introduced, a simple statement of irretrievable breakdown signed by both parties with no blame attached. This puzzles me because when Vera and I divorced that's exactly what we did, no solicitors, we did it ourselves and had absolutely no problems. Did something change?

You're right Ian! The tricks the mind plays, it was about 1982. 1959 was the year we married. Come to think we had two years of separation first, that may be the answer.
The length of time it has taken to complete the enquiry on the police helicopter crashing on to the Clutha Bar in 2013. At the time it was reported that it had probably run out of fuel and that was the finding of the Fatal Accident Enquiry yesterday. (LINK) Why so long?

It is the answer Stanley, to get a "no blame" divorce you have to prove you have lived separately for 2 years or five years if one party disagrees. Someome has to be at fault if you want a quick divorce. Not that I have any experience, I just looked it up.
