No power on the Croft, went off at 2am, Northern Power Grid are saying 1pm for a fix. Posting on my phone, until my data allowance runs out.

Have a look at the clever `pebble pictures' in this web page:

Power came back on at 15.15 today, that just thirteen and a quarter hours since it went off. Down to a busted cable down on Commercial Street so it took out the best part of Alice, Bessie and Robert Streets plus our row along the top.

Some of those cables date back to the 1920s Ian..... I'll bet mine do as well!
What attracted my attention yesterday was a visit from daughter Susan. It was very good, we were close before but now are even closer. Good Kids are a blessing!
The other thing that grabbed me was that I finally got a copy of a very good video made professionally of the memorial service. Wonderful, they all did so well and it was a very emotional watch which of course stirred lots of things up in my head but all of them good. It was run entirely by her friends and was perfect. The overwhelming sense I ended up with is that I am the luckiest man in the world, I had 51 years of her.....

Someone must have heard me..... We had a two hour power outage last night just to remind us what dark means! I lit a paraffin lamp and sat reading....... Jack stuck close to me.

A fault on Kelbrook Rd was the last I heard, Ian. We were back on at 20:50, a friend down at Lower Park was an hour later.

Mrs Tiz was on the landline phone today to EDF trying to sort out a problem with a bill. It was agreed that we'd pay off a certain amount now. They wanted her to key in her credit card using the phone's keypad. We've never been asked to do this before so she refused, being concerned about security. Is this an accepted way to pay with credit card now?

It rings a bell Tiz but I have no clear recollection. I think she did just right.
The fact that despite the lousy weather the last few days the daffodils on the Green are budding. A hopeful sign!

The fact that the method of attaching images via attachments is so easy and as long as you include 'click to enlarge' you can post lovely big images!

The fact that the dead mint stalks in my front garden need clearing out. Has anyone got garden shears I could borrow? They are too tough to simply break off or pull out.

I noticed a drift of yellow Narcissi on the Green yesterday. Like very small daffodils but a deeper yellow. Such a cheerful sign and God knows we need it after a long dark winter!

What puzzles me is what it is that has worked.......
What a good day it was yesterday all round, weather, health, shed and sleep. It makes me worried! Something will have to go wrong sometime......

What attracted my attention yesterday was the fact that our granddaughter Kelly took part in the Ron Hill 10k Accrington run and came first lady over 35 and second lady overall.
Say only a little but say it well.
