Similar for me, 13-14 hours between tea and breakfast. So, regardless of what hours we keep we are doing the same thing. I like the way Dr Hammond put it, giving your stomach a rest during the night. I always remember a doctor telling me that the hardest work we ever do is digesting a good meal, he said that's why we feel sleepy after it. Cue the crumblies on the sofa snoozing at Xmas after the feast.
I had the remainder of the tea I half ate for breakfast and a steak pudding and peas for tea. Both small helpings.

I tend to agree. After eating Low Carb all week, we may not have felt the benefits, but our gut had. To then have a Chinese meal ( lovely as it was), I laid awake half the night feeling the Rice was swelling up in my tummy. I just didn’t feel good for 24 hours afterwards. Good to get back to Low Carb tonight which was a plate load of steamed Veg, with a bit of Chicken.
Sometimes you don’t realise how good you feel until you eat the wrong things. Not only was I feeling off, but I was exhausted, which is so unusual for me, and I couldn’t think straight. Very odd indeed. ( no excessive alcohol involved I assure you!)
Possibly the carbs in dinner had swamped the Metformin. I didn’t take my BSL machine, but it would have been interesting to get a reading. The next afternoon, when we called in to see husband’s grandson for his birthday, I didn’t dare eat a thing, because I felt so flat by then. Then we had the two hour drive home. I just wanted to go to bed and sleep...

Pasta and Focaccia are forbidden just now, Panbiker, as is Rice or Spuds or any bread.
I feel better already just going Low Carb today. It may become the new normal (who knows).
We started it because hubby had to get weight off, but I think I am thriving on Low Carb.

I had a big improvement when I first went low carb but then it tapered off and I felt better with a smaller intake.

Spicy Beef Noodles tonight, but the noodles are made from Zucchini. I’ve already put them through the spiral slicer, and they will sit in the fridge uncovered now to dry out a bit before I add them to the sauce a few mins before serving.

May I just add politely that going Low Carb changes bowel habits....and well...everything becomes so much harder ( as the actress said to the bishop). I am drinking lots of water. I can’t believe Carbs make such a difference to “ normalness”.

Never had that problem since going low carb. We do eat loads of fat and fibre in the form of green veggies and nuts, nuts and more nuts.

Cheese and 90% cocoa solids chocolate for me, lots of nuts and leafy green stuff too. I do have around 90g of carbs for breakfast (porridge) though so probably not as low carb as I could go. Blood sugar levels are always between 5 and 8mmol so I must be doing something right as I don't have any solidity issues either.
