Chicken, avocado and lettuce wraps, from a Tom Kerridge recipe in the Radio Times. Delicious! Ours had cos lettuce leaves used like a taco rather than iceberg leaves making a wrap, and I roasted red peppers instead of using a jar.

Another Scotch Egg with cottage cheese for dinner and meat pie and veggies for tea. I cooked mutton and deboned and de-fatted it and put the veggies in with it with onions and lardons added to boost the protein. Scotch eggs and cottage cheese are an ideal lunch for me, low carb and just enough to satisfy me.

Have just finished oven roasting a large pan of Mediterranean Vegetables.
(Waste not/want not). They will get smashed with a fork and frozen in containers. I use them as Pizza Toppings and also grilled with Cheese on Turkish Bread to accompany Soup.
One portion will be had tonight on Turkish Bread, as we are having Pumpkin Soup for evening meal.

A bowl of muesli for dinner and sausage, black pudding and egg for tea. No afters, just an apple and two small peaches. The peaches are the flat ones that Chawdrey's sell for a short season each year. They are always ripe and tasty and I haven't seen them anywhere else. I suspect they are too ripe for the supermarket buyers.....

I treated myself to some new potatoes yesterday. I had a scotch egg and cottage cheese for dinner and steak pudding, now potatoes and peas for tea. Slow cooked a part mutton shoulder in cider yesterday and it is de-fatted and de-boned this morning..... Went veggie shopping as well. We will not starve!

I'm just roasting a chicken in the new electric oven....thought it would be a good idea because of all the free electricity being produced today. It's the first time in about 38 years that I've used an electric oven, it's always been solid fuel or oil. I'm nervous.

Mutton stew for dinner and tea. At dinnertime I went off piste a bit. As there was a lot of gravy in the stew I loaded my bowl with some muesli in order to soak it up. Sounds peculiar but in fact was lovely!

I had Stilton and oatcakes for a light dinner and for tea I had the last of the mutton stew. During the afternoon and evening I boiled a ham hock in cider, by bedtime it was deboned and de-fatted and in the fridge. The the gravy was also in the fridge to separate the fat. No afters, only an apple.
