Mixed, formed and crumbed some Beef Croquetes. Also made a Cauliflower/Brocolli/Cheese Bake. Might serve it with a spot of Mashed Potato...

I'm going to try a half Metformin in the morning, and stick with a whole one at night. I'm not a big eater in the mornings you see, and I can get "the wobbles".

Funny thing is I never have hunger or ill effects after my 14 hour daily fast. My system must have adapted over all those years of early starts and avoiding eating too early.

This article helps to explain the process. Colin fell out with the local low carb group because the chap in charge insisted on saying that T2 diabetes could be reversed while most believe it is put into remission.

Read all that, and as many links as my old iPad could manage.
I get what is being said. What is it that Col doesn't agree with?
(The thought I had is that Diabetics come in all shapes and sizes and I have met some stick thin ones. I can't imagine them losing more weight will achieve anything. I have days where I am not interested at all in food and other days when I am. That is entirely normal for me.)

I read it as well, thanks Wendy. Nothing in there damages my simplistic view, that if you find a regime that seems to encourage a stable blood analysis that pleases and at time surprises the Diabetic Nurse, stick with it!
I grilled Cumberland sausage and cooked a cauliflower yesterday. I had one sausage, two fried eggs and some cauli for breakfast and baked beans and sausage for tea.

He didnt agree with the local group claiming in their publicity that diabetes could be reversed.
Even thin people can have fat in and around their organs which can damage the beta cells. It's all very complex and beyond my understanding!

A ( small) toasted Cheese and Bacon Sandwich (bacon being the oven baked, not fried)....topped with Baked Beans and Poached Egg.
Nice! Enjoyed it. Ate about half. ( don't feel guilty about throwing uneaten portion into the bin, as I am full.)
I have tested my blood sugar 3x already today. I am not paranoid, but just "aware" I have chosen to reduce my morning Metformin to a half dose. I had a fasting result early morning of 5.6........and two further readings throughout the day of 6.0.
So no problems yet.

I had a light dinner of a sausage, two boiled eggs and some plum tomatoes before I started the endurance race to bedtime. For tea I had a sausage, the last of the plum tomatoes and cauliflower. Nothing more, not hungry.....

Vicki gave me some veggies fresh out of her garden on Tuesday and a small pot of home made strawberry jam. I decided to have an indulge for breakfast (I deserve it!). I got four sultana scones and some Rodda's Clotted Cream and had scones with jam and clotted cream. I was a good lad at teatime. I had Vicki's curly kale, a sausage and some of the onion gravy and didn't need anything else....

Tuna, Cauliflower and Sweetcorn Mornay tonight, with sliced hard boiled eggs.
That had to be today's choice, as I used up all of the rest of my Veg yesterday. Fridge clean. Shopping tomorrow.

Good, you can tidy your recycling bins up...... :biggrin2:
Yesterday I had steak pudding and mixed veggies for dinner with some of the new batch of sauce I made which is essentially onion gravy with added tomato. I had the same for tea but with a small pork pie.
I'm cooking cauli and cabbage as I write.....

Trying out another butcher's sausages. Last lot of testers had a funny flavour and were way too fatty. (I told the butcher I wouldn't be back if I didn't like them, so he will not see me again.)

I had steak pudding with lots of veggies for dinner and a small pork pie with veggies for tea. I put six neck end mutton chops in some cider in the slow cooker and cooked them on low all day. They are ready for deboning now and I have put veggies in the gravy. By teatime we will have a light mutton and pea stew.

Vegetable Fritatta tonight. Just finished cooking it. Will reheat later.
The trial sausages last night were quite acceptable. We still have 2 more supermarkets in town to trial ( Aldi and Coles)...but I give last night's sausage 6/10. ( I'm not mad keen on sausages anyway, but it is handy to have a few nice ones to throw on the BBQ when we go away in the van. Easy meal and it is one thing hubby will cook!)
