Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
We are planning home made pizza for tea. I have some cooked and sliced Cumberland sausages which is a start. I have sourdough for the base, will need a few easily obtained other bits.

I had eggs for breakfast and the last of the mince and onions with Fresh cooked cauliflower for tea.
See THIS BBC cooking tip. They are promoting the Stanley method of cooking once for all week but complicating the idea with lots of different dishes.

Gammon, egg, chips and tomato for my birthday tea with a glass of red.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I have a leg of lamb, some rosemary and a bulb of garlic. I feel a long slow roast coming on. There's some savoy cabbage and peas, from a previous meal, in the freezer and I may have a small portion of mashed swede and carrots with it (carbs I know but a small portion).
The remainder of the leg will go into a curry for tomorrow's tea.

The lamb has been stabbed quite a few times and the holes have been filled with a mix of chopped rosemary, minced garlic and salted butter. It's currently in the oven on a trivet of carrots and loosely covered with tin foil, I'll give it about an hour and a bit then take the foil off.
It's smelling delicious already.

Sounds good - Last time I looked it needed a small mortgage to buy a leg of lamb, and they had thief proof tags on. You can probably see the jealousy from where you are. . . Enjoy !

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
The juices (mostly garlic butter) and the sticky bits were loosened up with a good glug of cab sav, thickened with a small amount of cornflour and went very nicely with a couple of slices. I couldn't help myself with the carrot trivet, it was lovely.Big Kev wrote: ↑29 Nov 2020, 15:53 The lamb has been stabbed quite a few times and the holes have been filled with a mix of chopped rosemary, minced garlic and salted butter. Well thanks for that - the power of words - it's almost as if I was there.

He got my juices going as well David.... Don't forget he comes from foreign parts, a glug of cab sav indeed!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
We had Chippolatas and loads of salad, including a load of raw mushrooms. And a glass of Shiraz.
Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
You can't go wrong with a glug of cab sav in your gravy, the leg was washed down with the rest of the bottle.
The remains of the leg were curried with some lamb mince and peas for today's tea, I do like keema peas.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
My enthusiasm for cooking is waning again. I’ve taken Chicken from the freezer and keep walking past it as it thaws, wondering what I will cook. I think it will be Butter Chicken.
It is just sheer boredom really, I know. ( if only he would try something new, for a change).
