Merry Christmas

This card is dedicated to my lovely art teacher, Rosemary who sadly and suddenly died in October . A lady who produced a picture every Monday of the year for us to paint except Bank holidays and her own holidays. She taught me so much. This is one of the many paintings I produced, which in this case was based on an original by an unknown artist ss I cannot remember who she said the original was by. Sadly she is not there to ask.

I can say "Merry Christmas everyone", now that I have power again. We woke up to a power cut in the village, now the heating won't restart!

I hope you get that sorted Julie, look in the destructions for the reset button! The power cut has given it a brain fart. (Have you tried shutting the power off to it, leaving it for five minutes and then switching on again? That could work)

Happy to report that having grumbled about the heating, ignoring it for 20 minutes then trying again, the heating restarted.

Good. Some boiler controls are touchy like that, remember the trick in case you ever need it again!
A good day yesterday, hope you all can say the same but remembering Wendy and Col......

A happy New Year to everyone. 2019 looks a bit uncertain at the moment.... However, we have seen bad times before and have survived and prospered, here's hoping we can do it again this year!

Happy New Year, all you OGers! Ours has started well with the first sunshine we've seen for ages. Let's look forward to 2019 being more uplifting than the last couple of years. My prediction for 2019? Brexit will turn out to have been only a bad dream!

A poem for you yorkshire people . Taken from Facebook

🎅 SANTA IS A YORKSHIREMAN by Chris Burdon.... 🎅

Santa is a Yorkshireman
Of this I'm fairly sure
I heard him tiptoe in my room
At roughly Ten to four

"I 'ope tha's fast asleep" he said
"Or tha'll get nowt my lad"
He smelled of Hi Karate
(Must av pinched it from my dad)

Just down stairs I'd left a treat
Santa loves a beer
He loves pork pies and single malt
That was Dad's idea

When I woke next morning
I ran down stairs to see
If Santa had been kind enough
To leave gifts under t'tree

He got our mam a Nightie
And a pair of china pigs
Our dad got socks and undies
And 200 park lane cigs

My sister got a Barbie
Sat on a plastic horse
A One Direction annual
Which she loved of course

When I unwrapped my parcels
My Yorkshire heart did sing
Each gift that Santa gave me
A truly wondrous thing

A flat cap for my noggin
A vest of finest string
The ferret keepers handbook
Each gift fit for a king

So thank you Santa thank you
You surely are a tyke
But can you please remember
Next year I'd like a bike!

🎅Santa Is A Yorkshireman - Part 2🎅

Christmas time has come again
And Santa's on 'is way
To leave gifts under t'Christmas tree
For us on Christmas Day
I love the gifts he left last year
The cap and book and vest
I just can't wait till morning comes
To see wi' what we're blessed
Before the sun could light the sky
My eyes were open wide
I threw my bedroom curtains back
There was no snow outside
I quietly crept to mam and dads room
And tapped gently on the door
A tired voice came from within
"It's only half past four".
But I knew that they weren't angry
I was greeted wi' arms spread
We went and woke my sister up
And got her out of bed
And downstairs in the hallway
The evidence was clear
An empty glass and pork pie crumbs
SANTA HAS BEEN HERE!!
Now Santa is a Yorkshireman
We all know this is true
He got our dad some Old Spice
And eight tins of John Smiths too
He got our mam a cardie
And a lovely pair of gloves
My sister got a poster
(Justin Beiber, who she loves)
A note sat on the mantle piece
From Santa was my 'ope
My name was written on the front
Of the big blue envelope
It said "now listen here young lad
Tha knows that times are 'ard
But Mrs Claus says tha's been good
So tha presents in the yard"
And there it stood wi' eighteen gears
And mudguards front and back
Drop handlebars and racing seat
The frame were pure jet black
So thank you Santa, thank you
We all know tha's a Tyke
We all send thanks for the gifts tha gave...
... and I REALLY love my bike.

Cheers Chris Burdon!

I've got a bottle of Old Spice, but it's a long time since I had Hai Karate. Didn't know it was made by Pfizer !

First released in 1967, Hai Karate by Pfizer is still a classic and much-loved aftershave lotion for men. Hai Karate is back after being reformulated, and its packaging has been given a modern update too! Available in 100ml,
