Looks like Robert Hardy upstaged him yesterday

I remember him mainly as the unlikely named Ricki Tarr in Tinker Tailor.

Glenn was a very talented guitarist who played for many top artists in session, including Frank Sinatra and Elvis. He then became one of the Beach Boys before setting off on his country music career. RIP Glenn. Nolic

"Mr Saturday Night!" I'm sure he was a lovely, kind and generous man but I couldn't stand his television persona, one of the many reasons for not watching the box on a Saturday evening!

Me too. In a profession of huge egos, the man surely had the biggest. I'd say he 'bullied' his way to the knighthood. Sir Bruce Forsyth

We see nothing of him over here, but I remember seeing him on WDYTYA and assumed he was well liked in England.

Not a particular fan either but on "The One Show" tribute last night he was shown hosting "Have I Got News for You" and when Tony Blair and the WMD question was being discussed he summed up with "It would have been nice to see them, to see them nice". I had to laugh, a rare occasion when I actually found him funny, too self centred for my liking.

I can't believe he was 80 but then when I worked it out, when I used to watch him at lunchtime when I was at school, I would be 14-15 he would only have been 27

I can't find any reports of her death Nolic, only that she was recovering in hospital yesterday. Where did your news come from?
