I thought he was The Crimson Pirate but soon realised that was Burt Lancaster.

Just seen the story on the BBC, the TV programmes she was in I've never watched. Depression is a horrible and complex condition, the media have a lot to answer to...

Bit puzzling that the man she was accused of attacking didn't want the prosecution to go forward but seems to have been ignored. Could be some awkward questions to be answered by the authorities.

I too wouldn't have known who she was if it hadn't been for her being mentioned in yesterday's paper and Mrs Tiz telling me she did the Love Island show. I note that her death was the first item on the Radio 4 news and BBC news web site this morning, beating Storm Dennis. I'm more concerned about the lives of all those flood victims than I am about the death of a celebrity.

Seems she had been a major celebrity for a long time - won 'Strictly' in 2014. Says something for this site that few have even heard of her - including me except for the last few weeks. . Different strokes for different folks.

There's two TV programmes, Love Island and Strictly, that I don't watch so no surprise I'd never heard of her :-)

Katherine Johnson aged 101.

I stumbled across the Film 'Hidden Figures' a few weeks back., and found it very good. I'd noticed that archive footage of the Apollo missions showed the rows of engineers at the launch and landings were almost totally white and male. This film perhaps explains why.

Mum half watches it, it is like much televised sports programmes (on Free to View channels) too much talkng and analysis - by 'experts', but little meaningful action, over-hyped edge of seats 'results' , Commercial Breaks at tension points on one side, lack of them (for a Brew and the Loo) on the other side.

RIP Kenny Rogers.
I didn’t realise he was 81yrs old. We tend to keep entertainers at a certain age , and look, in our minds.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)
