"Hope the aches aren’t too bad."
I've had a lot worse Sue. Just a matter of gritting your teeth, avoiding pain killers and putting up with what is a temporary and necessary situation. If it increases my chances of beating the cancer it's well worth it.....
That thought struck me as well Ian. I think Sue will fill it better..... (I've probably dropped a bollock there....)

Thanks for letting me off Sue.... What follows has nothing to do with you but looking at that flat chested model.... I remember once overhearing a discussion between a man and a woman discussing the current performance of Romeo and Juliet starring Dolly Parton as Juliet. The woman said that she was pleasantly surprised by how well Dolly had played the role. The man said " I don't know about that but she sure can hang over a balcony!"

On another matter, I have just indulged in some high risk activity when you consider my present condition. Jack started coughing yesterday and this is a sure sign I have been remiss and not vacuumed enough, it's the hairs on the carpet being picked up by his wet ball when he's playing with it. I thought of getting Susan to do it when she comes to visit me tomorrow but it is important to me to be seen to be able to look after myself so I decided to do it this morning. I took it very carefully and got it done with no dramas. I did the stairs with the small cordless cleaner the other day. Then I fired up the compressor and cleaned both cleaners thoroughly. I'm feeling quite smug now!

Thanks Sue..... I bought myself an El Cheapo all Polyester thick fleece lined shirt yesterday on a whim. Goes against all my instincts to have natural fibres but it's light, warm and comfortable. Mind you, come to think, there's nothing 'natural' about Damart!
Quiet day apart from shopping. Susan and Mick are visiting this morning.....I will let him try his new Tricker brogues on......

Bedding changing day, I hate changing kingsize duvets. In France I shake them over the bannister but it isn’t possible here in the bungalow. Afterwards its a trip to the practice nurse for a routine blood test then off to craft. As I will be late I won’t be able to do todays activity but will plod on with the hand sewing of my jacket

Add a playful cat to the mix and it becomes a nightmare! I try to pick a moment when there are no cats around but one always appears as if by magic ....

These days with my back problems I have given up trying to get the quilt into the cover, I just lay it across the top. By some miracle it actually stays in place for me.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

Thank you but better the right way up Wendy! :laugh5: All the seams are bound and I made the binding, the sleeves are lined with the striped fabric that is also across the back shoulders. The front horizontal seams conceal pockets.

Now for the next challenge...after a bit of a rest making something that already has a pattern!

Love the jacket! (I would always be fiddling with the buttons to make sure the stripes were running in the same direction, but that is just part of my OCD) :laugh5:

That pink jacket has such skinny arms! I think you would need to be a twig to wear it.

I never thought about the striped buttons like that, oh dear now I will :laugh5: . Mind you they will never be fastened! Yes the pink one is just too small see how the button pulls. I made mine longer at the back too like the pink one but didn’t like it on so shortened it. Thanks for turning the picture Kev

:beach: Perfect! (But take no notice of my comment Sue...I think the jacket is perfect.)

I managed a slow hobble around the Country Market today ( after Dave put my shoes and socks on for me). It has been warm and sunny with blue skies, and it did me the world of good to get out. We then went to a bike shop to get a few accessories for our new electric bikes ( which I am sad to say, I still haven't been able to ride! I would dearly like to, but can't risk doing more damage to myself and have to be sensible about it). Can't sew, can't ride, can't drive, can't garden and barely get to see the upstairs of my home these days.
I did buy a book at the markets. I've been reading a lot and am getting through two or three big books a week. Laying on the bed, on my tummy reading is far more comfortable than sitting watching TV. ( I do love to read )
Roll on March 8th ( when I see the Neuro-surgeon). I want that operation ASAP!
