Today I shall be Mainly...
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
The medicine...Benylin...has worked wonders. I have only taken it in the evening as it causes drowsiness . It has dried up the catarrh, reduced the coughing and more important given me two good nights sleep. I think I am on the mend al last. Even my voice is improving.

Waved son, his girlfriend and dog off this morning after a 2 night visit.
Lovely to enjoy their company, but so nice to be able to see our floors again after hoovering up all the dog hair!
Those two "kids" can certainly eat! ( I have never known two people who eat so much...big appetites).

Hairdressers this morning, then an afternoon out with friends to see STRICTLY COME DANCING LIVE in Manchester, followed by a meal in town. Not too energetic!

That Benylin must be powerful stuff - I'll get a bottle just in case.

Indeed Kev, as we speak my subsequent comments regarding removal of the original batch are still there, should I be worried?

I have a topic running on Barnoldswick Talk relating to this, I'm hopeful it produces some valuable comments.

I only dare take it in the evening and before I go to bed. I didn’t go out for the meal but came home, coughing well!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
We came back last Saturday evening, a day early Stanley as Sunday forecast was -7 and thick snow. We didn’t want to drive those lanes in that. A friend went up there on Sunday she said it was chaos, icy roads loads of accidents so we did the right thing.
I slept 8 hours solid last night, no coughing fit, still full of catarrh but getting there I think. The evening out exhausted me though. Erin and Caire are visiting today, I must try not to be too active in Erins play games!

Good move coming home early.... It sounds as though you are getting hold of the idea that you are actually quite poorly! The last thing you want is pleurisy or even pneumonia and these are always possibilities so look after yourself. Good grub, warmth and rest with Captain Bob in attendance.......

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I shall mostly be trying to contact an emergency dentist. A bit of toothache yesterday morning turned into a lot of pain by evening and a comically swollen face this morning. (I'm not laughing much though ). I've got a number to call but they don't open till 10am.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Good luck with the dentist Wendy. Sounds like you may need some AB's.
Ian
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
You have my sympathy with the toothache, Wendy. I'm awaiting the extraction of failed root canal work, the ABs did their work but I still have a niggling ache

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I managed to get an emergency appointment in Accrington at 4.15 this afternoon and have plotted a course to the nearest open pharmacy so I can collect drugs straight away! Mine is probably in a failed root canal, underneath a crown that was fitted about 20 years ago. It was drilled and filled again a couple of years later. The pain has eased in the tooth but has dropped into my jaw where I have an egg sized swelling.
I hope I can contact my own dentist tomorrow.

I was very impressed by the emergency treatment I received in Accrington.Wendyf wrote: ↑28 Jan 2018, 14:11 I managed to get an emergency appointment in Accrington at 4.15 this afternoon and have plotted a course to the nearest open pharmacy so I can collect drugs straight away! Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I had to wait nearly an hour but they were very good. He gave me 2 types of antibiotics in the hope of bringing the swelling down. He was tempted to do an extraction there and then but allowed me to come home under instructions to go to A&E if the swelling gets worse or I start to feel I'll.
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
My sympathy too. On top of everything else I lost a filling last Sunday. I decided there was no point seeing anyone till I was better so have an appointment this Thursday. No pain but the filling is crumbling on its exposed surface. Had a good day today, definitely picking up. At least I haven’t had an ear infection with it like Claire. Bob seems to gave got off the lightest.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Commiserations Wendy, I remember when I had an abscess under an impacted wisdom tooth at the end of my army training, four days in hospital in those days but I suspect as much a consequence of old anaesthetics as anything. No problems since. Lots to be said in favour of pot gobblers!
Glad you're on the mend Sue but still take it easy!
I missed the shed yesterday because of cooking and washing.... So I shall definitely be in there this morning!

Shortly taking Sally for the train to London. She's on the WASPI warpath again and is Downing Street bound.
