No plans to day. I may go into Rochdale but if I do I will be wearing the statuary wet weather walking gear. All those coats I have made hang patiently in the cupboard waiting for a dry day!

I finished my chapter on Widdop moor last night, next task is to finish the chapter on John Widdups siblings. 7 chapters done, about 6 tough ones to go. In assembling the chapter on my grandfather I reviewed the notes we made last week and using the British Newspaper archive I traced the sailings of one of them to and from the West Indies. It almost matched. Perhaps I have found the ship. I don’t want to get too excited but I do feel another trip to Greenwich coming on.

I'm a bit closer now I'm in the wilds of Foulridge, it's only about 20 minutes on foot.

I'll get my annual check tomorrow at Bontoft's. Five minutes walk. He does glaucoma as well.
Shed is proving elusive, too many things get in the way. More medical matters and I am slowing down. I may have to make some changes to my routines.....

Son has landed back in the city. He will collect beloved dog tomorrow. Phew! We made it! Lovely old dog did not die on my watch. I am so pleased with myself ( and her of course).
Jeez...the number of times I have tip-toed past her and checked she is still breathing!
It is terribly important for both dog and son that she pass away in her own home. I feel it a great privilege to have somehow contributed to that wish.

I perfected the technique yesterday on the collar of Bobs shirt. Perhaps I will tackle the real thing today, first of all its bedding change day.

You're a glutton for punishment! Not bedding washing weather!
Good luck with the collar!
Maz you've done a good job, perhaps the dog will hang on until the next holiday now!

That's a snazzy pattern Sue! Looks OK to me. You can cross collars off the to-do list.
Not sure yet apart from optician at 09:30.

Hairdresser this morning. No french this afternoon as our room has been booked by someone else. Art this evening.

I shall probably do the buttonholes and sew the buttons on the shirt this afternoon, otherwise I shall be writing my next chapter...which is half written on JR Widdup's siblings. I am on the whole pleased with the shirt but annoyed with myself that I forgot to put the contrast fabric on the collar stand.

Redone the collar and put the contrast fabric on the i side of the collar stand. If I didn’t do it, it would constantly annoy me

Finally waved the dog off home today. She did not want to go! Very reluctant indeed...I think she enjoyed her time with us.
So I am all hoovered and steam mopped and ship shape once again.
I am so very tired. Luckily I have some TV to catch up on, so I am off to make a brew and put my feet up.
Looking forward to Dave bringing me coffee in bed in the morning. I have missed that this last fortnight, having to be first up to feed the dog and let her out...
