Got home just after midnight. Managed to get an appointment with the nurse practitioner this morning. She was very thorough, we were really impressed. Yep still infected, more antibiotics. She checked my hearing in both ears and checked bone transmission . The eardrum is still inflamed at the top. I have another weeks antibiotics and to go back next week if I still have any problem.

Cold, hay fever, or shifting catarrh. Who knows, however this morning my ear crackled and popped and my hearing is definitely a bit clearer so perhaps it is the latter and coincidence that Bob is sneezing. The nurse practioner told me to do steam inhalations which I have been doing , so hopefully it is working. Funny thing is the sneezing and streaming nose started at 8 last night, before any inhalation!

Not going to pilates and yoga cancelled tomorrow. I have been pottering in the greenhouse and doing some writing for creative writing tomorrow. Is that taking it easy Wendy :laugh5:

Comedy of errors in my attempt to feed the back lawn this morning. We have been having regular interlopers -moorhens - who roam quite freely around here, so lots of "deposits" on the lawn. I put my rubber gardening shoes on, so no drama there.
I was about half way through the process of feeding the lawn when my casting ( of potential food) brought some moorhens. I wondered how toxic the product was and grabbed the hose to water in what I could before it was swallowed. Big mistake! Moorhens love water and suddenly more moorhens came from nowhere to enjoy the hose. I do hope they are all ok. I keep shooing them, but they are very persistent creatures. Potentially, there may be a trail of bodies between here and the nearby lake.

Stanley, I will just be travelling from one basket case country to another it seems. Whether or not Italy let me back in will probably depend on how many sister in law's homemade Christmas cakes I manage to stuff into my cabin baggage.

Are you visiting Earby & Kelbrook Cloggy?
I just remembered helping a lady with her family history recently who mentioned, just before she left the library, that she was married to a Garlick and had an old presentation watch in her possession given to someone for 50 years service in the calico industry. I can't remember now if it was a Spencer or a Harrison, but one of the Earby names connected with your family. I emailed her links to your topics on here but haven't seen or heard from her since.

I shall be playing with my carbide cutters in the shed but all the time I will have a nagging imp on my shoulder reminding me that I must write some articles for the BET. I like doing them but at times they force me to leave off jobs I am really interested in!

Getting ready for A Night of Gatsby Glamour for Audrey which will be held down at Rolls tonight. In memory of Audrey Fiona Gallacher. Dress to impress, Gypsy Jazz Band and 18 Red Casino in attendance for side entertainment and a chip chase, there is a raffle with some amazing prizes and an ongoing auction that will be concluded on the night. Proceeds from the event are going to BE Bosom Friends.

DJ, sorted, winged collar dress shirt, cuff links, diamond braces, my black and white Gandalfi's and a nice white silk scarf should fit the bill.

Tried revisiting my Charlston last night, we'll have to see about that. :extrawink:

Took my ear back to the Drs yesterday. The infection is gone but it looks like there is still some inflammation and fluid build up, so it's back on the anti inflammatories for a couple of weeks. I took one last night and it certainly worked. My hearing improved no end and the crackling stopped. It's back this morning but it looks like it could be a way forward. I will have to be careful though, ibuprofen is on my list of, use with care , medication

Hello Wendy, thanks for that info, sounds interesting. I don't know at the moment how far around 'll get, but would love to try to at least get to the cemetries atEarby and Kelbrook. I'll hopefully be staykngmainly in North Wales and or Morecambe. From Morecambe I'll be visiting in Kendal and the Trough of Bowland, from where I could easily get to Barlck and Earby. Then I should give Burnly Nelson and Colne area a whirl as well. All wishful thinking at the momen. Got the flights, but still a lot of work to do on sorting out caring at this end.

Sue, "ibuprofen is on my list of, use with care , medication" Dead right! I was taking it for years for my back not realising that it was actually causing the small unexpected stabs of pain I was getting.

Have you tried an old fashioned rubber hot water bottle Sue? Get some heat into the area and encourage the inflammation which is of course part of the healing process......

Concurrent exams this morning so the Maths session was done by 10.30. I have come home for my lunch and will be back up at school for the P.E. exam this afternoon. Plenty of points for the legwork, grand when it's fine.
