I'll stick my neck out and say I'd prefer to see the two `Thanks' lines disappear from under the Avatar and thus shorten each post by that amount. Many posts on here are short yet there is lots of unnecessary space under them. Yes, we need some space after each post but not so much. What you think?

I see what you mean Tiz although the right hand side bar seems to be dynamic with certain items appearing depending on your activities on the site. For instance, you get an extra line if you have a high score in the arcade. Removing the thanks lines would help though. Maybe it is just a case of the eye getting used to the new layout

I may as well mention that I would like to see the "go to last post" icon a little bit bigger if possible. Very easy to click on the user and end up in their profile.

Just wondering how to find received and sent messages on this new site ?? Have the old ones been saved?
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

Cathy, your Private Messages can be found in your user area, there is a tab in there. The old ones should be available in the archive when all the internet bots have re-idexed the old site. Accessible from the board index page. A bit rocky at the moment but give it time. Archive data is read only.

I'll second that Ian - I wonder how many people even know it exists? I had to ask Doc where to go to find Last Replied.

PM's being received with no problems, was hoping to see the ones I've saved but they are not there as yet, but that's OK

Up to now I have failed miserably replying to PMs. I have had to start again with a new message. Is it just me?

Give them time Jules.... Some people never learn! I shall be mainly doing what I have been doing since December 22nd, taking it easy and looking after myself. I know I'm getting better because I feel more and more guilty about not being in the shed finishing the engines. Takes longer to get back on song as you get older and I'm not taking any chances.

Today I will be playing with my grandchildren, making buns with the eldest and cuddling the youngest. The family came up to see my Dad, but he looks so old and ill at the moment we thought that Eve would get upset. My daughter, Bob and I did visit him today and he was speaking more than he has done for a few weeks, but he is still very weak

Sue, thinking about your dad. I'm younger than him but even though the Xmas Cold is officially defunct I haven't got my Mojo back yet! These heavy colds knock the stuffing out of you. Mind you, he's recovering at the right time, days getting longer and the prospect of Spring a lot nearer. Best of luck to him.

Sue. I understand and feel for you. Life is a terminal disease and waiting for what looks like the inevitable is a lousy experience. We can't help. all we can do is let you know we empathise. Meanwhile, look after yourself, that's what he wants more than anything else.
Here at East Hill Street the pressure is slowly building in the boiler. Susan called in yesterday and we agreed that we are both at the stage where our energies are re-emerging. Even though she is so much younger than me we are both following the same recovery track. I'm still resisting doing too much but today I might be mainly in the Shed! (Not shouting, just playing with the posting icons)

Sue sorry to hear things are not good with your Dad, Stanley is right about him wanting you to look after yourself, try not to let worry make you ill. Hope things pick up as the week goes on.

Only just seen this, thank you. I get a lot of comments about that pic. You had hair? being the usual one. When I thought about when it was taken it came as a bit if a shock to find it was 1990!

I look more like the picture under my signature now...

Even more of a shock that 1990 was 22 years ago now :surprised:

Its been a lovely day so far, had a wander up to Letcliffe this morning with the Hubby (and his camera) & the Dog, had a look at the sighting dial Ian mentioned. Was a bit snowy up there this morning, so the view wasn't great! We then walked up Manchester Road and down into Salterforth and back to Barlick along the canal. Then finished off with some lovely dinner and a cuppa to warm us up at Victoria's Tea Rooms
