Problem solved. I have spoken to the funeral directors who understood absolutely and they are going to send me a photo copy of the agreement and funeral plan. I suspect this is something I should have received at the time in 2017 but there you are.... Panic over!

Preparing for house guest....just the hoovering upstairs to go. Dinner sorted but cooking everything fresh, so nothing to prep yet.
Will get today’s walk in before the arrival (though hubby is snowed under with work today 😞)
Lovely weather...hopefully we can enjoy a beer in the garden later, when guest arrives. We haven’t seen each other for 2 years so there will be lots to chat about. :good:
( we were supposed to catch up last May, but flights were cancelled due to Covid)

Should be on a more even keel today. An hour in the shed unpacking the 10H, early doors weekly shop at 07:00, in our time at 09:00, that's the first half of the day catered for!

Sounds like you'll have a fun day, Maz. Enjoy it.

Beautiful sunny day here, forecast is a high of 25C, so a pleasant walk to the pool room after lunch is the order of the day. I've just discovered that it's Thursday not Wednesday, my tear-off calendar in the kitchen is a day slow!

Morning

Enjoy your guests visit Maz. I had a lovely afternoon yesterday chatting to Gill but it was cold and grey out there, with a strong wind. She left earlier than anticipated as we were both feeling the chill. The buyer for my knitting machine and bits and pieces arrived about 9.30 pm, having driven from Doncaster. He was delighted with his buys and I have already had a message to say he will set one of the machines up today. He paid cash at my request. Though we originally discussed paying direct to the bank I changed my mind as I preferred to see the money. Today we will pop to the bank and pay it in rather than leave a lot of money in the house whilst we are away.

We will go to the bank this afternoon This morning is pilates, following lunch we shall call at our friend Kath’s house to take a birthday present and a card. Instead of buying her flowers as we usually do, this year I have bought her a rose for the garden. After that the bank, then home to pack. We are going to the Forest of Dean for a week tomorrow and hope to do some walking, despite the poor weather forecast. Its our golden wedding celebration holiday, self catering rather than the now cancelled cruise in Portugal. We shall enjoy it all the same. We have our champagne and shall be cooking the meal of our reception on the day, May 1 st. That is if we can remember it :laugh5: on the way down we shall call in Coventry to see Julia, on the way back we shall call again to pay the grand daughters a surprise visit. We are all looking forward to that its neatly 10 months since we last saw them.

So a busy day of bits and pieces today. Have a good day all

Morning Sue, sounds like a good week in prospect, I hope all goes well and hopefully the weather will start to pick up!
I was intending doing the weekly shop this morning but changed my mind, it can wait until tomorrow morning, I decided I wanted a good session in the shed.

It was a morning of sawing gates off the castings and filing the flash off so they were ready to be put in the mill or the lathe. I got all the castings done including the spokes of the flywheel. I can have the luxury of choice in the morning before I do my shopping.

Thanks for logging in Sue. I thought that was where you were.
I shall be in the shed making quiet progress and getting my head round bad news in the family. Not ready to come clean yet but it's a bummer. Later in the day F1 Quali on C4.

Morning

50 years ago today we said I DO . We bought each other a card.
477A432D-AC22-47E8-8A99-D76310313B4C.jpeg
. We joked before we opened them that they would be the same!

Its a cool sunny start to the day , but promises to be mainly dry. We have a 5 mile walk planned, an art lesson on zoom with Briony, then we are recreating the meal we had at the reception, which 50 years ago was a more traditional meal than perhaps now a days. Prawn cocktail, roast chicken pieces with new potatoes and veg, followed by apple pie and cream. It wasn’t champagne then, but it is tonight.

Have a good day everyone
