Sewed all morning on the machine. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and totally lost track of time. Big clean up job afterward but I always come back to earth with a thump when I realise I have been in my own creative world and have threads, fabric, pins, scissors and equipment spread over several rooms. I tidied up and reduced everything to an organised pile on the dining table, then put the iron and ironing board away before racing around with the vac. I'm hoping to get back to it all again in the morning. ( gosh I enjoyed getting "lost" today!)

It's nice isn't it Maz when something takes over your mind and time flies..... That's why I love the shed and doing things with my hands. Very therapeutic physically and mentally.
I shall be in the shed again this morning......

Had another lovely "lost" morning. Might have to put my machine in for a service though - it was playing up a bit today..Refused to do zig zag stitch and several times began sewing backwards! Instead of the fabric heading away me, the fabric was heading toward me through the feed dogs ( and I wasn't using reverse!)
And...a couple of times I wasn't even touching the machine or foot pedal and the darn think started sewing all on its own. Scared the crap out of me. ive got Gremlins.

Friends of Clarion meeting today then a day of site maintenance ahead of Sundays Family Fun Day and Barbecue. Probably get the mower out for a tidy up, general cleaning and probably a bit of gardening ready for the weekend. Don't know if we have anyone camping yet.

Tonight I have a Comms meeting at constituency HQ in Nelson, first gathering since the AGM, discussing a number of initiatives.

I've been "head down and bum up" painting several picture frames and objects de art today.
Very enjoyable day once again. I like to do things in batches, which saves mess. Final coats tomorrow, so another day of getting "lost in time". I missed my calling - should have taken Art seriously in my youth, as I enjoy painting so very much. I haven't had days like this for quite a while (did I even bother to comb my hair this morning? And what happened to Lunch? I don't think I bothered with it. I do recall having a cup of tea.)

Not sure what I'll be doing yet. I want to sort Mrs McMaster out but I will have to be feeling brave/foolish to embark on that one! (That means I will probably do it.)

Maz, you remember we were saying how we get carried away? I had a perfect example later. I cooked two small mutton chops for breakfast and when I'd deboned them I added some frozen mixed veggies. Then I got busy in the shed, forgot and left it on at full heat and caught it! I rescued the main of it, it's just about edible but did it on the worktop. I hadn't realised how hot the bloody pan was and here's the result, a permanent scar that will remind me every day of my stupidity!

Oh dear...I totally understand getting lost in a moment. Nothing to do with age -we all get absorbed at times. Best to set a timer that will ding to remind you though....your poor old bench top. That will annoy you forever! I would be popping a bread board over that...

:laugh5: it is like a moment in time, forever emblazoned on your bench top.
Don't own one of those myself, though Febby did drip some Super Glue on my sink once, and that took months to wear away.
And son left a hot cooked Chicken in its wrapper on my sink too, the ink on the wrapper ran, and that took some removing over a period of time. But you get the award for "pretty well permanent"! Well done!

When I was in the sixth form at school, indeed was head girl, the extension to the school was finished after 6 years. The school was decorated throughout and there was a grand opening. All very swish, the mayor and everything. I presented flowers, big meal the lot. It was around that time I rushed out at lunchtime to buy a new pair of tights and was concealing them behind my back when I became aware that the ploythene packet had stuck to a warm radiator. As i walked away I was aware of a a strange noise and looked behind me to see a lovely impression of a pink bag and a lady modelling a pair of tights. I rushed away rather quickly. That stamp of my presence was still there when i left the school some weeks later. I bet they were fuming! It was never mentioned however.

Hoping to be in the shed today. Not a lot of energy at the moment for some reason....... Everything is hard work. Could it be the warm weather?

Have you got any testing strips left for the meter? The hot weather can increase blood sugar levels which will drain your energy.

Reasonable day today, dry and not too hot. We went walking looking for a waterfall . After a few backtracks and a few signs that said 100 m we eventually found it. We then had to walk 2 km back up a stony track to the village. I only had trainers on...not the nicest soles for such a surface. We did a bit of local town sight seeing this morning. We are staying in a french air B&B with a lovely french couple as hosts. Plenty of language practice. Tomorrow we are visiting the home of Voltaire
