If you hadn’t noticed Maz, Maxine would have done on my next visit!

No definite plans for today, i may cut back the dead branches on my fuchsias but nothing much as I don’t want frost to kill them off. I think Claire, Adam and Erin may pop over for an hour or so

I have a full week coming up! Today is opticians at 9AM. Tomorrow is Airedale, Wednesday Val Webster the local Labour historian is coming round to suck my brains on local labour history and Thursday possibly Pluggy to upgrade me to the latest version of Ubuntu. In between I shall be resting! Wear the old ones out first.......

Airedale this morning with Vicky. In and out!
Reading up on Lancashire monasteries and the Pilgrimage of Grace (1536/37). Far more to the Dissolution of the Monasteries than I knew. Fascinating stuff.

Harvested a quantity of my Rhubarb this morning - cooked it up with Blueberries. Made a Rhubarb and Blueberry Cake ( promised to visitors) and blitzed the remaining fruit into drizzle to adorn the cake and cream.

That sounds a bit more positive although I am sure it was a painful cooking session.

Stanley you take care don’t overdo it. Rest up and sleep, sleep is the best medicine as you often tell us. How long does this treatment go on for.

Sue, I have one more irrigation next Tuesday. That's the last of the massive 50cc jobbies. Then they leave me alone for three weeks because at the moment the inside of my bladder is raw and inflamed (Hence the injunction to drink lots of water) and they wouldn't be able to do a proper inspection by cystoscopy. If that examination comes up unequivocally clear, that's it for three months and then an inspection by cystoscopy. If the first isn't clear I have 3 weekly 'maintenance' irrigations using a very low dose of the BCG virus, I think 5cc. Then another cystoscopy. This process will be repeated for up to 7X3 maintenance cycles but that isn't expected to be necessary. If it is I don't know what the next stage is. The general view is that the most likely outcome is a good one!

Taking Sue's advice and watching Pluggy drag me into version 18.4 later this morning. Standards must be maintained!

Evenings aren't my best time of day. I become very pumpkin-like after 8 pm.
Hubby fitted a (quick release) front basket to my electric bike today. That will come in handy when we cycle from our van to any supermarkets, because I can just snap the basket off the front and take it in the supermarket, through the checkout and snap it back on the bike to cycle back to the van. I have a back carrier too, but it's so darn tight at the moment, it's like a mouse trap! I can barely lift it half inch. It will loosen, over time.

Shopping day today....
I think I'll be spending some time trying to get my image manipulating programme to work with my new Ubuntu 18.4 OS. Gimp is completely different and isn't working yet..... I shall struggle on and if I can't crack it I'll shout for Pluggy again!

Bob is busy with the Model Engineering exhibition this weekend, so I am going to be by myself a lot. Today is art and lunch out with friends. Tomorrow I think I will potter over to Oswaldtwistle Mills to the Sewing section where they are celebrating being in business with BROTHER for 40 years. I have known Angela and Keith most of that time as originally their shop was in Rochdale and was mainly knitting machines. I gather there are a few demonstrations of machines and a few freebies. I must resist the temptation to buy anything BIG. I may contact my cousin who lives over there, and we can meet for coffee.

Pottering about a bit today, I am chief cook an bottle washer until Monday as Sally is down in Stratford with Ruby at half term. I have some more hoops to jump through setting up a Paypal account for Bosom Friends. Paypal is personal and businesses account centric and doing it for a registered charity is a completely different kettle of fish, they can't seem to get their head around voluntary trustees and no share holders. All the paperwork is for companies, You have to set a business account up and then they say they contact the charities commission to validate your details then they change it to a charity account and give you preferential discounts and benefits. You also go on their charity register and receive a percentage of charitable donations made through Paypal. Next step will be a dedicated charity Ebay account which will be a completely separate can of worms.

Today also looks like the day to wish BIg Kev a very Happy Birthday. :happybd: :cool3: :mexwave:

Last meeting of the week this morning. Just a small get together of a Labour Party sub-committee. It's round at the centre and I'm opening up, I'll go round 15 mins early and get the brews sorted.

Might go for a walk this afternoon.
