Wouldn't work with me Cathy, I have duvets under me as well as one on top. I like to snuggle down in a bed! Besides, Jack would soon disturb an unrestrained duvet cover!

Out for the day to Manchester. Catching the bus/tram/ train today, whichever is the appropriate combination depending on the time. its a wine tasting event at Manchester Central called Three Wine Men. We are meeting friends and going together. Its always a good do, plenty to try and a few ideas for future wine buying.

An ironing morning, followed by a quick fitting session at Maxine's. The gold coloured shirt that I am making for myself for New Year Is just not fitting correctly. I think it needs to be more structured with extra darts to make it more fitted. I can’t see whether they work, being at the back. The shaping alters the hem too. Its the same asymmetric patterned shirt I made in September but the fabric is not as soft, it does not drape but sticks out . Its being a real pain. Hopefully I can finish it this afternoon after Maxine's expert input.

I have a nice slow relaxing yoga class at 5.00 then back home to a lovely Sunday roast, followed by an evening of present wrapping. Some things need to be posted abroad ie 2020 calendars of Scotland bought when we were in Nessie land in April.

Keep dry and warm Sue, Jack and I have just had the benefit of a hail shower. I've done cooking, have a piece of mutton slow roasting and have cooked Jack's sausages. All this and an hour in the shed also!

We're settling in well thanks Wendy.

It's not the 4wd Yeti, I just needed something a bit higher off the ground to accommodate my knee. The Audi was quite low to the ground and it was putting a lot of strain on my knee getting in and out of it :-) and unfortunately there is early onset arthritis in there. The MRI scan I had prior to the cartilage op identified it and it's not going to get any better.

Oh dear, that's not good news. Hope you are getting some good physio advice on developing muscles to support your knee.

I've used up all my physio allowance but they gave me some exercises to continue with. It is a lot better than it was but the 'lower' car was aggravating it. Hopefully I'll see an improvement with the Yeti :-)

That must be annoying Kev. Commiserations. Modern medicine works wonders but Immune system complaints seem to be intractable at the moment.
I shall be having a normal day and heading for the shed.
Later.... I have stripped my roast of good meat and it's in the slow cooker with other ingredients. A ticklish job!

Another Christmas lunch with friends. I shall skip pilates with my full tum, but will go to yoga.

Before we go out I shall start to cut out Bobs shirt pattern and make its adjustments. My own golden yellow shirt is in the bad books. I have spoken harshly to it and told it that if it doesn’t behave it won’t see Christmas, in fact it may not see daylight again :laugh5:

What has gone wrong with the golden yellow one, Sue?
I've had disasters too...if I can't salvage the fabric for anything I cut it up and put it in the bin. Gone! Forgotten! It never happened! :laugh5:

Maz is right, I chuck my occasional mistakes in the scrap bin! Nothing in the Shed yesterday, I was too busy dodging rain and being idle. I shall do better today.

Its the fit Maz. It was originally designed and made in a very soft drapy fabric. This fabric is stiffer and firmer so once made up it just looked big. I have taken in the side seams, taken in the back seam and put curved darts in the back so it looks more fitted. This altered the length at the back so the hem has had to be reshaped in a curve giving not enough material for the hem so I shall have to put a facing on. Now that is all OK but the sleeve drops off the shoulder and its too big across the bust, so I have had to take out the sleeves, reshape the sleeve head and take in a large amount around the armhole particularly at the front. Having done all of that (using the sleeve from my toile until I get it to fit, ) the bodice now has a huge fold from the shoulder which suggests I should take even more in, but that drags the asymmetric neck to one side. It just does not fit. It is now sitting on my mannekin glaring at me with an evil eye :laugh5: i decided to start Bob’s shirt, which is now all cut out, and have a rest from all that continuous trying on! I shall finish the yellow top but only after a rest as the buttons cost me nearly £10!

So Bobs shirt is the task of the day. This evening we are going out with our widowed friend, for one of our regular meals out. Its all eating this week !
