I heard that report too Peter. Malaria is the forgotten killer and beats Covid by a country mile year after year adding up to many millions of deaths plus the debilitating effects on those who survive.
If the vaccine works it's wonderful news.

Don't have 100% reliance on a PSA test highlighting an issue, if something doesn't feel right get it looked at

Of course.
But I take it you are talking about physical symptoms? Despite two episodes of bladder cancer, hubby has never had prostate symptoms.

I had a prostate biopsy on Wednesday after an MRI picked up an abnormality, despite being pumped full of antibiotics I now have a UTI. I'm not at my best today...

He has my sympathy, I've stopped shivering now. I have someone bringing me some antibiotics later so hopefully they'll do the job.

Funny things UTIs.... I had a really serious one 30 years ago, the pain was so bad it dropped me and I couldn't move. I had a lady doctor at the time and she was brilliant. She must have hit it with exactly the right treatment and I have never had another one since. not even during all the cancer treatment, my Macmillan Nurse told me that I was the only patient she had ever had that was always completely clear of infection, evidently it's very common (as Col knows all too well and from the sound of it so do you Kev.) I wish both of you a speedy recovery, I always said that that bout of Cystitis was the worst pain I ever had in my life.....
Just seen your post Kev. Best of luck with the results!

Thank you. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 7 men in the UK so one of us had to have it.
Dependent on what treatment is required I will be making use of my medical insurance to take the load off the NHS.

Just a thought Kev. Bosom Friends have a library of information booklets on all type of cancer, jury still out of course but if you need me to get you some literature just ask. We are coming through Foulridge this afternoon to the election count so I could deliver on our way through.

Kev. According to the statistics most men die with cancer but not because of so the odds are I have it as well but no signs. Good luck with it if it is cancer, let's hope it is one of the slow ones.

Thank you, roll on Friday. The antibiotics for the UTI look to be kicking in, I'm starting to feel human again 😎. I had some roast chicken and vegetables last night, didn't manage the whole plate but it was a lot more than the small bowls of porridge I have been eating. I could have quite easily not bothered eating at all but the drugs have to be taken with food. The initial concerns of the medical staff, on the 111 hotline, was sepsis as the infection came on so quickly but a few questions (as I hung my head over the toilet) pretty much ruled it out. I might even go back to work tomorrow :biggrin2:

Thanks Wendy, I don't do ill, I'm a terrible patient :biggrin2:
Certainly feels like it, the MRI only showed one 'anomaly' confined to the prostate so hopefully there's nowt to be seriously concerned about (he says with optimistic confidence).

The Consultants have a very good idea what's going on and if they were unduly worried the biopsy would have been fast tracked for examination. Slow is often good news.

That's the premise I work on when I am waiting for the results of my MRI scans, not easy though, you want to know.
