No China. My dad had two in the same place and one day he asked me to cut them off with his straight razor. Blood flooded out and we had to get the Doc in to cauterise them. That's why I have left it alone all these years. All I had to do was wait!
Horses and cattle sometimes got 'angleberries' on their legs, Like a large rough bulbous wart. We used to tie cobbler's twine tightly round the base and they dropped off.

I've become a bit of a dinosaur with all the latest technology on offer. I will be buying a Chinese sound bar and so I won't have the luxury of reading any instructions, but I know it has blue tooth. I don't think my TV has blue tooth so I'll just be relying on old fashioned cables for the connections. Sounds a bit iffy which is why I'm hesitant to buy.

Later.... See THIS for a Guardian report on new research into detecting broad spectrum Autism at an early age. I suppose this is a good thing as long as it is accurate. I get a bit worried about tests which give false positives and sometimes lead to unnecessary treatment.

60 years ago the Aluminium Plant and Vessel Company delivered two new 2" valves to West Marton for use in the milk storage plant. The legend on the sides of the boxes was 'Leak-Proof Cock' and even then we noted this and commented that it was a consummation devoutly to be wished! As I get older this is borne in on me more and more! Getting old isn't for cissies!

It's one of the reasons I started doing pelvic floor exercises regularly a few weeks ago. Not serious or unhygienic, just a nuisance! I don't laugh at the Tena Lady ads on the TV......
A doctor once told me about a patient of his, an old bloke, who seemed to be using a lot of incontinence pads. When he enquired he found he as insulating his loft with them.....

Making a clean break from all my old glasses was a good idea especially the ones I use only for my computer. I have suspected for a while, more in hope than conviction, that they were a bit off and were putting strain on my weak right eye, the one that had the detached retina. I have got used to all of them now and adjusted and the main thing I have found is that the distortion in my right eye has lessened. Only one day so I suspect there is more improvement to come! This time yesterday I was not seeing the screen properly and was disappointed but that's all changed now as my eyes have adjusted. I am a very happy bunny because the improvement is noticeable in reading and the new general purpose safety glasses. So, ugly as they are I shall be sticking to them!

My eyes continue to improve marginally using the new glasses. My finger seems to have a permanent stiffness, I shall just have to live with it.
Last night I felt a bit dodgy, not quite right. I am always aware of the possibility of a virus or cold at this time of the year so I took a Sudafed decongestant which generally seems to benefit me. By the time I went to bed I felt OK and am the same this morning. Was it a false alarm or did I nip something in the bud? Whatever, it seems to have passed.....

I was part of a strange conversation today. On Wednesdays I volunteer at our local hospital in the switchboard dept.
Switchboard operator was telling us that she had just rang the morgue and had to wait to be answered.
Upon answering the morgue staff member said 'Sorry you had to wait, I was just popping an eye out and had to put it in the fridge straight away '.
I asked 'Oh, is that part of embalming?
Answer 'No, it's part of human harvesting, the patient who has just died was an organ donor'.
I said 'Oh, oh right. OK'. Ewww.

I'm all for being an organ donor. I donate all I have that may be needed. ( please be aware there may be considerable mileage on some organs....but I have perfect eyesight!)

We're signed up too and the UK government is considering making it the default position so you have to opt out if you don't want to donate. This recent radio programme presented by Joan Bakewell was good on donating your body: LINK As well as discussing how to do it (in Britain) they also visited a hospital and were present as a body was brought in and prepared.
