OGFB Finances 2018

Post by PanBiker »

First of all apologies for the late report. I was intending to do this at the end of March but stuff got in the way, (exams and elections).

Anyway here we go, I did an interim report in September last year but its easier for me to do this full report from when I took over the donations and established our new Paypal account in March last year.

Income

Total Donations received (15): £240.00

Paypal Fees: -£11.36

Net Balance after Fees: £228.64

Outgoings

Quarterly Site Hosting Fees -£145.00
Jun/Sept/Dec/Mar

Current balance: £83.64

That has to be for the year Stanley or we would be in the red.

Indeed it is for the year Stanley, they are actually varying amounts each quarter as some have adjustments for Doc remaining hosting on the servers and other's Stephens share for STSR. Registration renewal and SSL certification comes into it as well. It seemed easier just to put a total rather than have to explain why all the fees were different each quarter. I can of course account for it to the penny if required. Paypal provides a downloadable spreadsheet which I could put up, I would have to remove a few columns though as they contain personal identifiers which is why I didn't include it.

Your donation does show as 0.20p in the notifications I get from Paypal, a decimal place error on entry perhaps?

Yes that's it, the site is a bit indistinct. I'll have another stab at it!

The hosting costs amount to 11.99 + VAT (£14,39) per month including the SSL although this on;y started on the last quarters bill. There was an introductory deal when we paid 9.99 +VAT a month. On top are domain names. I bill Ian a smaller amount than this because I use the hosting for my business and as my donation to the running costs. If the demand was there I'd make the invoices I pay available for scrutiny

I hope I can post this!

For the record:

Current site funds stand at just over £113.00 after two quarterly hosting fees have been paid since the opening post. We will have further fees to pay next month.

No harm in a top up I think. I shall attend to it this morning Ian, it's a long time since I sent one.
Thanks for your work keeping us up to date.

Mark Hamill's bill last time was just over £100 for repairs in February 2017. He's looking into the problems we've been having of late. So he'll want some money when its finished.

I've tried to donate, but it says an error occurred, couldn't see an error, and don't know if I've donated or not now.

Hi Gloria, thanks for your efforts in donating. I have checked the emails that I get from Paypal for every transaction and unfortunately cannot see one from yourself. Others have successfully managed the routine so could just be a glitch, What was the error message and was it from Paypal?

Thanks to everyone else who has added to the coffers.

Mrs Tiz paid in £25. We don't have a Paypal account but she pays through the Paypal link. It was difficult this time because when she filled in all the details it wouldn't take the full landline number - it stopped accepting digits before the last one and kept telling us to put in a valid phone number. (We don't give out our mobile number and wanted to use the landline number box). Eventually we found that if we left out the zero at the start of the STD code it worked. I'm mentioning it here in case anyone encounters the same problem.

That’s what it did with me, then said error occurred. I’ll try again.
