It seems to worry women more when they turn into their mother. I remember telling my daughter once she was turning into me... That really shocked her, especially when she agreed it might be true.

I hope and pray that I never turn into my mother or my father.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

I have always been aware that I am just a little similar to my mother (strong willed etc.) however, I now realise that I am far more like my dad - pedant, planner and tease. I just wish I'd had half his ability with darts.

Not sure who I'm like. My Uncle Stan reckoned I was a throw-back to my GG father Alexander...

Bumped into someone on the street who said he often saw my son in the Dog.

I said I hoped not, as he's only just gone 15.

Fellow maintained young man in pub was a younger version of me. (Poor lad!)

It's funny how things change. I remember a pub landlord trying to throw me out of a pub when I was in my 20s because he thought I was under-age. Now, when I visit my 95-year-old dad some of the residents think I'm his brother. It must have been my hard life that did it!

I was once in a restaurant with a bloke and his daughter. The waiter (referring to the father) said to the daughter he'd come back when her grandfather had decided what he wanted. He had evidently decided Ethel was my daughter and Jack was her grandfather. As he walked away Jack looked up and said "Who the hell asked him anyway!"

When I turned forty someone chanted "mirror, mirror on the wall, I am my mother after all." I laughed but all these years later as I turn the top of the stairs there is a mirror opposite me and that saying goes through my head, more true now than ever!

I think it's fascinating to look in the mirror and compare with what I looked like 74 years ago....
