My fellow colleagues have the bug! The only headwear readily available at work are blue hairnets - and the weave is TOO loose. We were working away trying to be diligent when someone shouted "When are we going to get the &%"*! tree up and decorated; they appeared to think my daughter would do the deed as she works there also. I tried to spread the message about tin foil hats but was laughed out of court.

I have constructed a tin foil skull cap which I am wearing under a bobble hat (to keep face in the office), I think my daughter has been badly affected already so I am looking for an antedote.....

Some poor young thing was having a bad day today..probably by the forces at work.
I popped into the ladies loo at a shopping centre and discovered a woman's purse right next to the loo, sat on top of the chemical bin thing. Stuffed so full of cash and credit cards it couldn't close!
I handed it in at the supermarket desk...and I do hope she gets it back in its entirety.

What puzzles me is that there has been no news of a shortage of turkeys due to disease. At one time this was de rigeur at Xmas. Are people no longer fixated on them?

Found a ladies purse on the B & Q car park. Credit cards plus £70 odd. Asked them to put a call out for the name on the cards. A lady arrived all in a sweat and showed her driving licence. Just for good measure I asked her to check the contents. Everybody happy.

Such a bad time of year to lose such items, Plaques... Imagine the stress...I know it would ruin Christmas sitting there worrying whose hands your credit cards or driver's licence were in, not to mention the inconvenience of it all. I imagine the purse I found may have been left by a harried Mum, possibly toiletting her toddler and put her purse down. Easily done.
As I say, I do hope it got returned intact. Guess I will never know. They didn't ask for my details.

How things change! Back in the 1980s when on holiday in the Yorkshire Dales I left my credit card by mistake in a shop in Settle. Checked by phone and they still had it, so continued the holiday and picked it up on the way back. No problem!

At my local shops today there was a huge man, dressed very differently and certainly over-dressed for todays warm conditions, who was sat on a huge chair and he was obviously the centre of attention because 'the pram brigade' was lined up waiting to meet with him. Everyone was very patient and a group of singing children were keeping everyone entertained. I had to go past all of this twice and was very careful not to get in anyone's way. I didn't make any eye-contact either... phew!!

I've kept my eyes open but haven't found any ladies' purses yet. Mind you, I haven't been in the Ladies loo. Is their a special trick that I'm missing?

Lurking round the Ladies might lay you open to suspicion Tiz. Would Mrs Tiz approve?
Clear night last night, plenty of lights in the sky but nothing that caused me any concern. Mind you, I can only see about half of them......

We have it Stanley, it's bright blue with fluffy white clouds and it's full-moon time. Might explain it.

I saw a very bright orange light in the East the day before yesterday at dawn. I was in Valley Gardens and could only see the bright glow moving slowly across the sky towards the NE. I haven't the faintest idea what it was....

Talk about Santas being everywhere!, there was one on my bus today, he sat at the front on his own and he was talking on his mobile phone, he seemed to be organizing something important. Instead of wearing a red and white jacket, he was wearing a red tshirt (what the??).
I heard his laugh and it was actually a Jolly one.

From the increasing incidence of vomit on the pavements first thing in the morning it looks as though the Xmas parties have started.....

We saw Santa today on a trading estate but he was looking a bit under-fed, tall and thin - so underfed that he was drifting off in the wind and had to be tethered with a piece of rope!

Re: vomit on the pavements... Charming!!

Isn't it so nice that with age we know that we can celebrate and still enjoy ourselves without too much alcohol.
