Not just Rolls and Weaving in West Craven

Post by Whyperion »

While browsing another forum I found mention of the name / product Naugahyde, which is a sort of rubber/synthetic rubber essentially upholstery material, invented by what is now Uniroyal. In good trumpland tradition the product is made only in USA, but there has in recent years (Mar 2013)been a merger with the UK company Wardle Storeys perhaps its best know product is Vynide, its market is about 80% pan european automotive and the remainder public buildings and nursery goods coverings. I think it is now called Uniroyal Engineered Products, and employs over 220 people at the Earby facility of West Craven Buisness Park. So steam mills may have gone, but high value and inventive products are still made in West Craven.
