Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Sorry Gloria but no. I would have been in exactly the same position as you..... Clue, it's a monolith... start there.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I looked up monoliths in graveyards and up it popped, Rudston Monolith near Driffield.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Looks very much like my old Triumph Toledo twin carb 4 cylinder but with fancier rocker cover and air intake. I shall plump for a Triumph spitfire which would more likely find itself on a classic display.
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Not a Triumph.

This is being used for a totally different application than what it was originally used for. What was its original use?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
A tailgate hinge?
We had a 1974 model for about 10 years and it was great fun. It had belonged to Mrs Tiz's father and we bought it from him for a nominal sum after he had a major heart op and was told to avoid the cold. He worked for Beechams and had used the car to drive frequently between London HQ and the Ribena factory in the Forest of Dean.
That's looks to be a lovely car, Gloria - unfortunately our days of driving topless sports cars are over!

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Liked the MG but the chassis wasn't exactly rust proof. Can't remember exactly but when Leyland took over MG the engines for the MG and Triumph became the same. I once had a try at a two seater sports car of the type where you stepped into them rather than opening doors. Got in OK but being a good average height (over 6 ft) I couldn't get out again. Needless to say I didn't get it.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Mrs Tiz's father got his MGB s/h, probably about 6 years old and he got new sills fitted and treated the body with Waxoyl. (He also tweaked the engine a bit! )

Not a tailgate hinge. And, we haven’t got the answer yet.
