A clue could lie in Forgotten Corners where you are delving into your Bracewell archive. Is it the road to Stock?

Was this lane mentioned back in 2012? I have a vague recollection of what Wendy has mentioned but the pic in the 2012 article is missing.

You're right Wendy well done. It's Hall Lane from Bracewell down to the Ford and forward to the large quarry over the beck and Stock Village on the top of the hill.

Here's the map showing the old quarry and the lane down from the village.

The gallery reference to the image will be wrong you can get the image back by updating the gallery syntax. The image reference number will be the same it just needs updating in the post.

I found the image in the gallery with a Bracewell keyword search.

You don't actually need to go to the gallery, just the original post and update the URL string to the new syntax. I do lots of them if I come across them while browsing. Lots of threads need the images for context.

Easiest way is to copy the URL string from any image in the gallery, this will get you the right syntax. Edit the post and paste it under the existing image string then update the image number. Delete the original string and you are done. You can keep pasting the same string for every busted one, just update with the right image reference.

I keep thinking the girl looks like a very young Elizabeth Taylor. Probably not 🙁

That was my first thought Cathy, the eyebrows are right but the hair isn't! The way the girl is holding the cub suggests she knows what she is doing so im guessing its a publicity stunt for a circus or a zoo.

You're getting very warm Wendy. Clue, because it's really hard, Sedbergh is implicated marginally.

It's obviously too difficult. See THIS for an explanation. The lady is June Mottershead and during the war she looked after some animals at home. I found a reference to Sedbergh but have lost it.
Next one?

Looked it up. June Mottershead , daughter of Chester Zoo founder George Mottershead.
Her childhood featured in the BBC tv drama Our Zoo.
June died 1 May 2015 aged 88.

Don't remember Eileen, but it's Victoria Wood's sort of name that may have been used more than once.

Memory is a funny thing - I now find that Pat and Margaret which is 27 years ago is the Mottershead I 'remembered'.

PS Guess who is being interviewed right now on ITV. Lee Mottershead

That's got to be spooky.

Pre Covid I started researching the family history of my maternal cousin Sue's father. His name was Harry Butler and I assumed that was the name I would be researching, however it turned out that Sue's grandfather was born out of wedlock and Butler was her gt grandmother's maiden name. There was a man in the picture though, who she lived with and married in later years....Mr Mottershead!

I don’t think it was Eileen in Victoria Wood, it was Margaret Mottershead.
