Re: GOOD TV
I caught up with Earth from Space last night, fascinating programme and I see there was another for me to go back to. Watched the Bay and Mother Father Son. Bay is good but the latter gets even more angst ridden and convoluted, I get the feeling they only had enough plot line for three episodes and had to do a lot of padding out.

Dipped into Traitor again last night. Lots of violence and twists in the plot. Feef is not a nice lady!
Haven't forgotten I must catch up on Earth from Space, a treat in store!

Plenty on TV at the moment.... snooker, last of Traitors, first of the new Berlin Station. Lovely, keeps me entertained in the evenings!

We enjoyed The Story of Wales series of TV programmes presented by Huw Edwards. Well made, no silly trendy stuff. Just great history and Huw is always good to listen to. LINK
We tried Earth from Space but quickly gave up. We can't stand those terrible naff, droning voice-overs!

Re: GOOD TV
We watched the first episode of `Operation Stonehenge: What Lies Beneath' (BBC2). A few interesting bits such as the pink flint which we'd read about but never seen a photo of it. But more naff voice-overs and the usual gratuitous violence - especially now they've realised that women took part in the fighting too.
Why do they insist on the voice-overs in a droning, intonation and with several pauses in each sentence. It's condescending, they seem to think viewers can't take in more than six words at a time. And the same with the filming, they edit it into scraps all stuck into one long, bitty collage - again they think it's the only way to keep the attention of the viewers. Yes, I'm grumpy about TV there are some brilliant productions but a lot of dross.

Re: GOOD TV
Add the superfluous use of background music and shots of clouds speeding across the sky Tiz. I fear you are right, they have a very low opinion of our intelligence or attention span. Based no doubt on their own!
Gloria, watched LOD and I share your surprise, never saw that one coming! (The female of the species is more deadly than the male?)

Tripps wrote: ↑03 Dec 2014, 00:49 It's very late but I've just watched the best two frames of snooker I've ever seen. A lad called James Cahill (No 100 in the world), from Blackpool has just beaten Ding Junhui No 3 in the world in the last frame. He is only 19 years old.
He plucked defeat from the jaws of victory in the last but one, then amazingly won the last, having been well behind. He made some crucial shots left handed!
I thought I was getting bored with snooker recently, but this was seriously good. A star is born.
Fast forward . . . .
What a judge - and what a memory for rubbish - it only took him a bit over four years to come good. I thought the name rang a bell. He's back as an amateur now (can you do that?), and he has beaten Ronnie O'Sullivan 10 - 8 at the Crucible today.

You're right David. He is the first amateur to play in the Championship at the Crucible and is frightening! I watched him hammer Ronnie and am now laid in a darkened room for a while....

Iolo Williams fronts some very pleasant and interesting TV programmes about Wales. `The Brecon Beacons with Iolo Williams' is one series and he's done others, for example on Snowdonia. LINK

Re: GOOD TV
Watched two final episodes last night. The Bay was quite tidy but Mother Father son was the classic failure to achieve closure for the viewer. It was as though the plot line ran out and they simply tucked the loose ends in. Glad it's over!

Re: GOOD TV
I meant to look at that Tiz. Thanks for reminding me.
GP was boring, Line of Duty had me riveted to my seat and troubled. I hope there is one more big plot twist to come. I favour the woman lawyer who reckons to be the Superintendent's friend as 'H'.......

We watched the last two episodes of four of "The Victim" last night. A twist in that one and overall a tale of many incumbents of the title.

Re: GOOD TV
This series of A House Through Time has been exceptional. If they could just cut out the annoying beginning where they tell you the whole story in 2 second snippets it would be brilliant.
