I bumped into this very late last night Peter Pan Goes Wrong.

I really enjoyed it. Very cleverly done I'd say. I saw a stage version of Peter Pan when I was too young to appreciate it at the Library Theatre in Manchester. Good to see it again, albeit tongue in cheek, but at last I understand the plot.

We watched that slapstick version of Peter Pan on TV and it was marvellous, the only problem being that it was so fast moving. We hardly had time to recover from splitting our sides with laughter at one upset before the next was upon us. Very clever. I can't imagine how they managed to get it to that standard - they must have smashed a lot scenery and props along the way!

I watched the programme on diet that Wendy recommended. Good stuff particularly the doctor who advocates low carbohydrate! (That's why the bread makers are in the recycling bin.....)

I thought there was a lot of useless reporting around the core idea that fat is no longer the enemy. Anyone hoping to see a sensible report on intermittent fasting would have been tempted to throw something at their tv, and why did we need to see endless shots of beautiful bodies on Bondi Beach? Lovely to see Dr David Unwin though and a few of his patients but depressing that Public Health England still support their killer Eatwell Plate.

I found out yesterday that you don't automatically get a free TV licence at age 75, you have to apply for it. Tried to do it on line but was unable to understand one of the questions. Seemed ambiguous to me. Late onset OCD. I did it by telephone today - got through immediately, and spoke to a good lad from Blackburn, who had me sorted in a couple of minutes. Oddly, he didn't ask me the question I struggled with - just what my licence number was. Happy days.

Wendy I agree about Bondi Beach etc. and to tell the truth once I had seen and heard the good doctor I swapped channels....
David, Luckily I knew that I had to apply and was on their doorstep as soon as I passed 75. If I remember right I got a refund.

I can't tell you how pleased I was when I looked at the TV schedule for this evening and saw we had a full two hour Endeavour! I've lost patience with Sherlock and that Taboo the other night was about the same, I watched half of it and decided it wasn't for me. Smart move by ITV I reckon, as far as I am concerned there is no contest!

I thoroughly enjoyed Endeavour last night.
One thing I've been meaning to ask..... For a while now the facility to look back through the week on the Freesat box has been dead. I can still access iPlayer through the TV set itself. Has anyone else experienced this?

Never really used it as the on demand services actually do a better job, most programs being available for a month or more. All of the main channels have their own on demand player. I'll have look at mine next time I switch on. It may just be that its a redundant feature of the EPG.

I tried on demand on the Humax Freesat box last night and lo and behold, it has returned! Perhaps this is part of the problems Tiz described with the BBC the other day. I went back to Poliansky's 'Venus in Fur' and watched it. Deep but very clever and satisfying! Yippee!

I was never a big fan of Silent Witness but the new series is, for me, far better and I am enjoying it.

Endeavour. Splendid. I wonder what the significance of the tarot cards at the end will be? I'm racking my brain, but I don't recall anything from 'Morse' that might be relevant.

The whole of the Prime Suspect series are downloadable on Sky. We are working our way through. 26 years nearly since the first series. On re-watching, it's surprising how gritty they are. Noticed a 14/15 year old Danny Dyer in Series 3. Along with Mark Strong, who had a cameo in an early Morse as a traffic cop.

I'm watching film on Talking Pictures TV now. Ch 306. Called The Gay Dog Dates from 1954, and 'stars' Wilfred Pickles amongst others. It's not what you think. He's a coal miner called Mr Gay and he has a racing greyhound. As usual with these films it's a useful source of social history. Current scene is a 'whist drive' - whistle is blown "change tables please". Pre-dates smart phones and facebook I think.

David, I remember it well but we had a bell to signal the change.....
Have you noticed the subtle change in Midsomer Murders? They now have black actors......

Mystery solved Richard! Endeavour last night had a plot centred round strangulation which explains the Tarot Card of the hanged man the week before. They showed another last night but I have forgotten which card it was!

Good Lass Wendy, yes, I remember now.... Last night I went back to see what, if anything, I had missed with Sherlock. I watched about 15 minutes and then gave up, too bloody convoluted and metaphysical for me. I watch TV for entertainment not angst!

The Moneysupermarket 'Epic' advert is back - could it get any worse? You wouldn't think so, but if it was awful before, now it's absolutely ghastly.

I agree David. I look away when it's on. Can this be winning trade? I suppose it must be or they wouldn't keep 'improving' it. There must be weird people out there.

"Those whom the Gods wish to destroy they first make mad" Is that advert another example of the tide of madness we see all around us?

There's a flood of complaints so at least you're not alone!
