langroyd maternity home

Post by jscriv »

Could anyone help me find history on this old place ?
When it became a maternity home, what it was before and when it ceased being a MH. Is it the carvery as we know today?

Try the Colne Lancashire Now & Then site - a few topics on there have covered this.
Say only a little but say it well.

It is the carvery John, always called Langroyd Hall, home of the Carr family for generations. Christine Bradley, ex librarian at Colne Library recently did a talk on it for the library. She is the lady to speak to, now one of the library volunteers we can be found there on a Wednesday morning.

I have moved the topic here into the Local History thread from where you originally posted it John in Practice Posting. That particular thread is automatically wiped each week.
