Another chunk of British heavy engineering gone. These are the last two Christmas Trees leaving our factory in Leeds. Destined for the Mediterranean offshore Tripoli.

600 manufacturing jobs gone (USA, Malaysia and Brazil still going). 300 design & project jobs still there.

'Christmas Trees' - or 'subsea trees' to give them the correct name, used in offshore oil and gas fields and they cost a bit more than the ones you buy in Aldi! :extrawink:

Beancounters rationalising that the company was uncompetitive? Don't shoot the messenger, get to the real cause of the company's demise.

'Rationalising' isn't always simply a matter of economics.
