Stunning day for a wedding yesterday; didn't see the tractor, but did spot a vintage open top car with bridesmaids.

What I notice today, is that there aren't many larks on Facebook (apart from Ken Hartley, who probably caught his worm a couple of hours ago).

Industrial scale littering in Valley Gardens. Someone took a sofa and a load of booze and had an al fresco littering session. The blue sofa is still there.....

You need a farmer on call with a load of warm manure or silage who can do a drive by and give them a squirt of the ripe stuff!

The war memorial at Blacko (Barrowford). A really well looked after memorial, a credit to the people of Blacko. Slightly unusual is the inscription which reads, "DEDICATION, This cenotaph was erected by the parishioners of BLACKO to the honour and memory of the men of the parish whose name are inscribed above and who fell in the European War 1914-1918". "WHEN CAN THEIR GLORY FADE"
I've never seen it referred to as the 'European War'.

Folk in Blacko put in a lot of work to keep the village ship shape.

In Barlick, I've reported the blue sofa and litterstrewn park to police and cleansing, cleared a lot of the litter up and removed the blue sofa as far as the Gospel Mission. It wouldn't fit in the back of my car, so haven't been able to take to tip... Have appealed for someone with a van/pick up/ trailer to cart it away. And have asked if anyone recognises it...

Well done... Only thing wrong is that the miscreants weren't made to clear their own mess up. I hope you catch them.
What grabbed me yesterday was the total wreck of Lewis Hamilton's car by fire less than five minutes into qualifying. Did you notice that when he was told to stop next to a fire marshall he plaintively reported that his brakes were AWOL as well. It takes 36 hours to completely rebuild an F1 car in the factory, the mechanics had less than 24... Go to it lads!

The Facebook detectives are investigating blue sofa incident; might come up with something - it worked at Letcliffe, with party organiser getting a fine.

Cheers Peter.

Finished on the square at 6pm. Only a tent for now, but it's the start of turning our town centre into a sandy cove.

A nice visit from Susan and Joanne. I sorted her out with stuff for her mill girl costume and used her car to do a heavy shop at the Cathedral of choice. I needed to fill my bread flour cupboard....

Have a loom at this LINK for an example of how intelligence can be corrupted when other people's opinions differ. Dawkins can't understand why everyone doesn't agree with him. Sad....

I like the opening paragraph
Quote; Dawkins in 2014 is a man so convinced that he possesses God-like powers of omniscience that he can’t understand why everyone is angry at him for pointing out the obvious.
Dawkins is probably one of the world's best known atheists, to write an article which starts by claiming he thinks he possesses God-like powers just shows how confused the writer is. Obviously she would prefer to live in a world of "Mumbo Jumbo" where hard facts and clear proof get in the way myths and biased opinion.

The 'god-like powers' are attributed to Dawkins by the writer of the article; not claimed by Dawkins himself...

I'd say that - 'One of the world's best known atheists' is not likely to 'claim God like powers' ?
