End of an Era

Another chunk of British heavy engineering gone. These are the last two Christmas Trees leaving our factory in Leeds. Destined for the Mediterranean offshore Tripoli.

600 manufacturing jobs gone (USA, Malaysia and Brazil still going). 300 design & project jobs still there.

Bill, what a shame..... Was it beancounters 'rationalising'?

'Christmas Trees' - or 'subsea trees' to give them the correct name, used in offshore oil and gas fields and they cost a bit more than the ones you buy in Aldi! :extrawink:

No, but id Phillip Hammond wants to know reasons for low productivity, take a look here. I doubt physical output per worker hour is much different in the 4 worldwide locations.
