Can't complain about the weather as it is quite pleasant these past few days.
Just sick of cooking. Would be nice if hubby could cook a bit more. :laugh5:

I had Kathy's version of Buffalo Wings (Spiced chicken wings) with sprouts for dinner. Meat pie with sprouts and peas for tea and the last of the Stilton.
Ashley and Yiota call in today. I shall be cooking and he is a chef.... I shall invite criticism of my technique!

Cooking accomplished. Yesterday I had Scotch Egg and veggies for dinner and meat pie and veggies for tea. No need for afters, I popped into the kitchen and ate cold sprouts when I got the munchies! I can eat them like toffees......

I had steak pudding and mushy peas for dinner but boiled some broth bits so by teatime I had a Cornish Pasty and mixed veggies with a cream trifle for pudding that Kathy had slipped into my bag together with a 250ml Jersey Single cream that was on its last day. So I got some plums and stewed them. Guess what's for pudding today!

What is the difference between Broth (which in tins seems insubtantial to me - something you might have if you are feeling a bit ill from some virus or otherwise) and Soup - which is either all liquid or has chunks of meat and/or vegtables in it?

Broth is clear and strained of all solid matter ( basically clear stock made without thickening agents and infused with the flavour of whatever veg or meat was simmered of it. I made some today actually, as my husband loves it. Very flavoursome)
Soup is more substantial of course and may or may not have its liquid thickened, either by adding a thickening agent or liquidising the veg to release their starches as natural thicker. I tend to add milk to white soups, such as Chicken Soup.

After you have had an operation and haven't eaten for days, hospital broth is a magic thing indeed and can really perk a person up.

My next sheep hasn't come yet so I cooked steak, kidney and onions as well as the usual veggies. Dinner was meat pie and veggies. Tea was a scotch egg with veggies and gravy from the stew. No afters, I even forgot I had a helping of stewed plums left in the fridge!
