I had a temporary filling on my broken tooth, and return in a couple of weeks for a white proper filling. No pain. All good!

I am going for a swim this morning. I haven’t been swimming since last June! French this afternoon. Art this evening provided the snow stays away. I am not surprised about this weeks forecast, it always snows the week of Bobs birthday, which is on Wednesday

Sorry to hear that Maz!
I shall be running late because the web was AWOL until 5AM and I have a pressing legal matter to deal with. Good progress yesterday but slow because everything is so small!

Not free here either I am afraid even as a pensioner. Its about £18 for a check up, £16 for emergency fee before they even do anything. Then bands of prices depending on what you have done. My bridge was well over £200. Many people have some sort of top up insurance to tbe NHS. Ours gives us half back on anything we pay. Amongst other things it covers eyetests and glasses, physio, and also any private dental care we may opt for and visiting the dental hygienist .

I went yesterday - it's now £20.60 minimum charge. I was however persuaded into the full monte (new denture) - so it will be £244. That's OK if you can afford it, but hard if you are in minimum wage type job, and don't qualify for any benefit.

Exactly! I shall be having a private filling on this tooth as the last one was so good. I am lucky I can afford it. However its still cheaper than the NHS crown which is where the tooth was heading.

I cracked a tooth/filling/mess a while back with no pain (damned toffee penny in quality street) Its over a root canal filling I had years ago. I elected to live with the sharp edges and wait until the next checkup.....

It'll probably still be 20 quid with the repair on top of the checkup.

Way back I had a tooth that really wanted a crown but the dentist dif an extensive repair job because I was bleating poverty. Its still hanging in there.

I joined a 'friendly society' 40 years ago, the yearly subscription of £8.40 has never changed. It pays all my dental charges up to £300, optical charges up to the same and any chiropody or physio up to £80. I also got £500 when I had my appendix out in 2003.

Today is normal duties and shed plus my annual eye test. I think I'm going to need two new pairs of glasses. That won't be cheap.....

Smart woman!
Today is a busy day but I might get an hour in the shed. The Design Committee has been working on the next problem.....
Went to the opticians yesterday. Right eye (detached retina one) is deteriorating slightly but that's to be expected, left one is fine. Three pairs of glasses ordered, General use, computer and reading.

Expecting delivery of my new safety screen.
Taking advantage of free leccy from 9AM onwards to do the cooking, washing and housework. This will get precedence over the shed! (Someone has to do it....)

Green waste collection next week, so I have been tidying the garden and doing a bit of pruning.
I was pulling out weeds at the front, when the Council Inspector came to view the new build still in progress next door. We have complained that many times about the rubbish and mess. I'm hoping that this time, the builder incurs a fine.
As I explained to the Council Inspector, it is a two pronged problem. One is the mess and the other is the length of time it has been going on. The build was started 10 months ago and is nowhere near finished.
(The Council Inspector asked me where all the Tuna tins come from. Builder's lunch boxes! Same with all the drink containers and Crisp packets!)

I've had a yard full of builder's rubbish in plastic bags next door for 2 years now but the woman is hard up and cheerful and keeps it tidy.

Continuing to wrestle with cupboard fitting at Bosom Friends Community rooms. A new studded wall with some lateral high spots, it looks perfectly OK until you put a straight edge on it. not welcome with a 1000mm cupboard to fit!
