The thick stone walls of most of our houses make them very slow to respond to heat if the wall is north facing and doesn't get direct sun. My bedroom and the front room face North and up to last night they were warm but comfortable. In contrast, the bathroom at the back which gets full sun all day was on 29C yesterday.
Margaret tells me this morning that they have 11C in Perth and as her desk is in a draughty warehouse she was feeling the cold but her boss has moved her into the kitchen of his partner's house on site so she's a bit warmer now. They have had a lot of rain as well....
I shall be having a quiet day, I lifted that lump of steel again yesterday and spent an hour sawing by hand and I'm not as tough as I used to be!

Not pretty but I have it parted from its parent!

A strange day for me yesterday. I was all set to make Eves second top but the fabric hadn’t arrived. I had a swim early but was home again by 9.45 a m. I then prepared my art paper for an evening class which I discovered was cancelled just before I was due to set out at 6.00 pm. I pottered with a toile for some summer trousers for me but couldn't make the actual trousers as the material I had didn't have ebough stretch. In the afternoon I sat down and did some writing for the U3A writing meeting on Thursday. . That was it That was my day.

Today is yoga followed by U3A lunch, pilates this evening. I hope Eves fabric arrives then I can cut her top out this afternoon. Otherwise I shall dead head and cut back the rest of the plants as needed in tbe backgarden whilst it is still a little cooler..

Walking up Earby Beck above the mill site whilst the water is low, looking for evidence of early water management. Attending the opening of the new Earby Library in the New Road Centre at 1.00pm, then dealing with a load of strawberries that I picked yesterday. My crop of strawbs has been incredible this year!

Looks like you are showing it who is boss, Stanley.
My day hasn't been nearly as productive. Hubby's computer was having problems so he had to take it in to be looked at. He doesnt know what to do when he has nothing to do... :juggle: ...so he tends to watch over what I am doing... :rolleyes4:..and that is no good at all...so I avoid certain jobs for fear of being given lots and lots of advice about other ways I might like to go about things! :laugh5:
If only I had loads of Strawberries I could put him to work on...

I hate side-walk superintendents Maz. It implies they know more than you do. If that's the case, why aren't they doing it?

I was always toId I did too much and didn’t let others take part enough. Trouble is they were always too slow getting their act together and I could have done it and moved on to the next task. Who me...I know I am such a lazy person :laugh5:

Maintenance day in the shed yesterday, I shall be making muck today and then perhaps a trip up to Wendy's to have a look at the boring rig.

Thinking of our Dan, mentioned elsewhere he would have been 38 today. Not the nicest thing to be doing but we are attending a funeral today over at Skipton Crematorium. We are going to support but will not stay for the wake. We will pop down to Gill this afternoon and then the rest of the family are coming round for a gathering and tea. Orders have been taken and we have arranged curries, Dan loved a good curry.

After a bit of heavy rain yesterday morning, today is cloudy and wet. The last vestiges of my roses are now over. If the drought didn’t finish them the rain has. However I have dead headed metculously so with a bit of feed I hope to get a second display. My sunflowers are now over 4 feet tall and flowers forming so this rain should help. Tge rain will also help my hostas.

Today is art, a meal with our friends who have returned from Washington and wine tasting with the U3A this evening. I hope to finish Eves top ready for our trip to Coventry next week ( on our way to the channel tunnel) . Claire and family return from their holiday today after a week in Tenby. I gather they have had a really good time.

Busy as usual Sue.....
I shall be aiming for the shed again, bit of frustration as I worked at very low tolerances (tenths of a thou) on a hole but hit the problem of old tackle. I shall get there today! Resistance is useless!!

Nothing on mine. What post icon. Must have been an accident. I got little done testerday struggled to do the washing and the small amount of ironing. I was not well when I woke and spent most of the day going for a sleep. I had a really bad headache and griping pains akin to appendicitis. I improved after about 14 hours from starting to feel ill. I wonder if it was food poisoning of some description.

Today I am meeting Claire Adam and Erin for a picnic in the park whilst Bob helps tun the model railway track. I shall return to my packing this morning.

Wendy is right, it's a feature of the post editor which allows you to attach and icon to represent the content of a post, the feature has always been there although I can turn it off. This post should be marked with the information icon.
