I'm sure you enjoyed the "nits"!
I bet we are still infective. Hubby is on day 12 of the virus and I am on Day 6. But even if we aren't we are still avoiding people because our bodies are fighting and we don't need someone else's virus giving us a further challenge.

'Nits', very nutritious Maz! You are probably right if indeed it is a virus. Very public spirited of you. Are you on ABs as well?
I cooked a cabbage yesterday and made another of my onion tomato and bacon mixtures. I buttered the cabbage when cooked and added the tomato, onion and bacon as so finished up with a supercharged Colcannon. I had a small bowl of this with a steak pudding for dinner and the same with two fried burgers for tea. Nuts for afters.
I am keeping a stock of cooked sausage in the fridge as a vehicle for Jack's ABs.

I'm not on ABs...David is, my son is and my son's girlfriend ( who developed Pneumonia) is. ( all different AB's too!)
The only one reporting much improvement, is the son's girlfriend. She returns to work tomorrow after a fortnight off. She could likely do with more time off really, but has run out of paid leave. As a single Mum, she has no choice but to return to work.
( been there and got that particular T-shirt!)

I'm doing Chicken/Bacon/Cheese/Spinach in Fillo Pastry tonight. I've just cooked the filling and added Black Pepper, Tarragon and Dill. Will make the Fillo Pastry Parcels later. ( they aren't parcels actually. I line oven proof bowls half way up with the Fillo and they pop out beautifully as little open tarts. Probably have Cauliflower and Baby Peas too.

I hope all of you imp[rove soon!
The chicken etc. sounds good!
I had a Scotch egg and nothing else for dinner. For tea I had a steak pudding with a touch of the onion, tomato and bacon on a bowl of frozen mixed veggies. Lovely, nuts and an apple for afters.

P....... it's all right for flat bellies like you.......
The necessity for sausages to be available for Jack's ABs means that they are a natural for me as well. I had a sausage with mixed veggies and the onion and tomato for dinner. Same for tea but with some of Jack's dog food as well. A few nuts and an apple for afters.

Another magnificent pot of Vegetable Soup has been made. It's a " 2 night" pot...so easy day tomorrow too.
I muttered another cure into it of course, but I think we are well on the way to recovery now.

Please turn a blind eye to any deviations from a low carb diet over the next few days. My butcher closed yesterday for the annual holiday and as usual I volunteered for a 'wrap up', anything they had in stock they wanted to get shut of instead of keeping it. It arrived last night, mainly meat but there are some other items in there which could get me into trouble with the carb police!

Dinner was a cold Scotch Egg and a very small sponge cream cake. Tea was steak pudding and peas with apple pie for pudding. Some nuts for a nibble.

While your regular butcher is closed Stanley I can recommend Nathan who has recently taken over Steve Hursts on Newtown. I have some of his stewing beef in the slow cooker at the moment, lovely lean meat.

I agree with you there Ian. I definitely recommend the chicken kievs, everything else is of the same high standard that Steve produced.

No shortage of meat and I have Jack's mince for next week also.
I had two poached eggs on plain teacakes followed by apple pie for dinner. Tea was two hot meat pies and the last of the apple pie. This is all the carbs dealt with from the wrap up.

I was wrong about the carbs, I'd forgotten I had a currant teacake. I had that for dinner with chutney and grated cheddar cheese. Tea was a steak pudding and peas. I have no nuts or chocolate so the top up for the small bowl was half a bowl of Muesli and an apple.

Slept 11 hours overnight, and am taking a multi-vitamin daily now. Lovely sunny day here and we have been out for a long walk. I feel ok, but am still not up to a full head of steam.
I've just been watching out of the corner of my eye as hubby downed another dose of cough mixture and 2 Disprin, so obviously his sore throat is back. I shoe-horned a multi-vitamin into him this morning too, just for good measure.

An amazing meal in the end. I oven roasted some triangles of Butternut Pumpkin, steamed some Cauliflower, cooked some finely chopped Spinach with Jasmine Rice, and crumbed/cooked the Chicken. All served with a Lemon/Herb Sauce that I made this afternoon.
What is the saying as you kiss your fingers? Bellisimo! It was a winner...

Isn't it nice when you hit the button! I've spent the morning cooking, mainly meat at the moment but the veggies will go into the slow cooker once I have fished out a pork cutlet that's going to feature on the menu shortly... Not something I ever buy but that's one of the delights of wrap-ups. You find yourself going off piste!
