He's got it but typically P is being obtuse. It's a conical tinplate oil holder that hung on the loom frame with a feather in it for transferring the oil..... Well done. Now give us the next one!

Dad was a tackler from just after the war until the firm closed down. Later when I got my first motorbike I would sit in the tacklers cabin waiting to take him home. I've still got a lot of his spanners and bit and pieces in a box in my garage. They don't fit anything now-a-days but I can't bring myself to throw them away.

P, you're right about tackler's spanners, they don't fit modern sizes. The square headed bolts and nuts used on Lancashire looms were an archaic size and I'll take a small bet that if you look at your dad's spanners they will be stamped 'Sacason' and numbered 1 to 7. That wasn't the only maker but recognised as the best and very popular.

Bill and Henry might be the spitting image of this man but he has a CBE and I doubt that Bill and Henry have that! This statue has only recently been erected and I've found surprisingly little about it in the news even though most people in Britain will have heard of him and many will benefit from his endeavours frequently.

Spot on, well done! The bronze statue, created by Graham Ibbeson, commemorates Sir Ken Morrison CBE who `turned family stalls in Bradford markets into a supermarket chain'. The plinth has the inscription `Sir Ken Morrison CBE: A consummate retailer'. I got the details from a nib in The Times; it doesn't say where the statue is but I guess it will be in Bradford which is also where the supermarket's HQ is located.

It is indeed situated outside Morrisons HQ in Bradford.

Graham also created the statue of Eric Morecambe on Morecambe seafront and also the Eric and Ernie statue in the Winter Gardens at Blackpool.

He also did my favourites Stan and Ollie in Ulverston.
